Before the Fury fight everyone was saying Wilder was a bum who fought nobody’s. But now Fury get all this praise for allegedly having a close fight with a bum he had a 50 plus pound weight advantage on? Y’all need to make y’all mind up

Wilder has never been a bum in my book, had him favourite to beat Povetkin and Ortiz, his big asset his his athleticism and power, technique wise though he’s awful

Fury was coming back from the brink of suicide and obesity. Ring rust and drug addiction, yet he still schooled the Bum Wilder only to get robbed on the cards.

Wilder's not a bum. He's good at crushing bums, though.

His physicality and power would probably make him a top 10 ... maybe even top 5 guy, in any era.

However, his lack of skills means that he's going to get schooled by a tough boxer everytime. This HW era is so bad that he seems like a force. But Fury (who I genuinely expected to get smoked) showed what his level is, and I think guys like Povetkin, AJ, Parker would too.

Imagine Wilder vs guys like Tyson, Holyfield, Wlad and Lewis. What a massacre.

He's just about top 5 in his own era lol, 70's and 80's 90's he gets eaten up by other contenders, his name doesn't make main stream imo. He would be the type of fighter in them era's that scores an upset once in a blue moon against anybody down to his punch imo. Tyson at 100% looks even better against him, he's lucky he hasn't caught Wlad version Tyson or people would be belly laughing at him ! A contender like Jerry Quarry or on form Bert Cooper I expect to spark Wilder, seriously !

He’s not a bum, just a very average boxer with phenomenal power that he’s relied on in every fight he’s had. He’s knocked out 39 from 41 opponents and was a half second away from putting Fury away. Tyson Fury was probably around 80%, coming back from physical and mental hell.
Yet aside from two shots that caught him, Wilder never troubled him. If Wilder’s the real deal, an A level fighter which he and his rabid fans think he is then a 100% fit Fury would be an A+++ fighter

He's got bum skills with big power.

This fight really didn't prove otherwise.

Yeah, I agree with this. Fury and Wilder both good for there own reasons but before the fight everyone knew each fighter had disadvantages... now the fight is over Nothing has changed for me AJ is still no1.

But it’s great we are discussing it

Minds have been made up. Wilder has only one thing....a powerful right hand. His record is padded with bums. He is also the dumbest champion ever. Noone even comes close. Noone should be able to come back after three years with ring rust and abuse to make the heavy weight champion look pathetic. Even with the two knock downs...Wilder lost.

Im not saying Wilder is a bum, but i will ask you what do you think people saw to change anybodies mind? Those that thought Fury was nowhere near 100% still think that. Those that thought Wilder was a bum watched him get outboxed all night barr 1 or 2 rounds and it was only the knock downs in the rounds that he was losing to Fury that dragged his score to close the score cards. But Wilder won 3 rounds max, he landed his only weapon in 2 rounds. Furys weapon is Boxing and he used it in every single round.

I dont think Wilder is a bum, his power is impressive, really impressive but having to rely on that power alone is not very impressive at all and is very risky at the top level, we can say that now he has had his 1st fight at the top level and got outboxed and lost. I cant see how thats guna make people go wow we were so wrong about Wilder. But then people who think Wilder is a real bum are haters and if anything that performance is only going to strengthen their view that he is a bum.

Wilder would beat many past time guys bc hes 6'7 and powerful with really good ring IQ so much he is uncoachable so they just tell him basically keep throwing punches its also why he will never be that guy at HW bc he himself wont ever give himself that chance...lol.

But what are his actual wins says a lot of who would actually beat him below

    Top 2 wins

1.Ortiz who nearly had him. Still a 50/50 fight.
    2. Stiverne. 12 round decision win.

Wilder lucked out again Saturday night to a fury about 80% on point. Physically he was there and why he nearly pulled off the win ,watching Ben in the corner he made some mistakes I thought.

    A. He told Fury to fight defensively and to hold back basically going into round 5 when he was just getting his gauge and wilder having no answer for a dooble/triple jab...right hand..Wilder was still baffled and we knew he would be until after mid rounds ( if you know each had ).

    B. He then told Fury to try and get in on wilder and hold in the 12th. Had fury flicked jabs the entire 3 minutes on the out to force the clinch instead of evading the wilder right and bending down he wins.

    C. He was not warning Tyson to stop leaning inside ,it was only a matter of time before Wilder would get him ,even he could only miss so much at the same area. Fury should have not been near wilder without throwing or grabbing after mid rounds.

Wilder will one of those fighters where you can just say he knocks fighter A or B out just cause and skills don't matter in some matches. but most of his fights actually show otherwise. Outside the two mentioned , guys like Stiverne and Washington don't tell you much.

You cant be a bum at top level in pro boxing but he's still untested here...TWO fights don't say ANYTHING even if he wins convincinely...which he didn't. You can say the same about Ortiz and Fury but they display skills that they don't give up rounds..thats the difference.
