Floyd gave the haters an excuse by demanding the catch weight. I'm trying to like and respect Mayweather, but it's hard to fully embrace him when he pulls stuff like this.

Guerrero beat a wasted talent in Berto in a war and beat Aydin, who lost to fringe contender Jesus Soto-Karass in his next fight. Those represent his great wins at Welter. Guerrero was not a bum, but he was not near the class of the Welterweight division either.

And the main issues with Floyd are simply that the man lies, is a hypocrite, and calls himself the greatest ever without proving it by fighting the best. He ripped on Pacquiao for draining Cotto, made a big deal out of how he was fighting Cotto at Cotto's best weight, then he does this to Alvarez because Alvarez represents a bigger threat in Floyd's mind and he's got to protect that 0 even though he'd likely beat Canelo anyway. He tells the world the weight is made for the Marquez fight on 24/7 then promptly weighs two pounds over on purpose to give himself an extra advantage. He tells his fans after the Guerrero fight that "he wanted to give them a knockout but he hurt his hand" except for that his hand was fine when examined. The reason he didn't knockout Guerrero had nothing to do with his hand. He didn't KO him because Floyd was unwilling to take even the very minimal risk of putting enough punches together to stop the vastly outclassed Guerrero. Floyd can complain about people hating on him "beating the baddest guy out there" when he actually makes a fight accordingly.

yer you to dude for once someone who can object using FACTS.

mays antics are disgraceful sometimes...and he is SUCH A BAD PUBLIC SPEAKER it makes me cringe everytime.. especially when he tries to go ghetto. my friend made me a fan of mayweather .. i hated him when he first started with the constant trash talking an **** but he told me "watch him, after the fight he gives nothing but props and constantly says its all part of the show , sell the fight etc" an he was right. i still dont agree with what he is doing but im sure he looks at his paycheaque and is satisfied lol

i hate guerrero for the way he acted in the lead up to the fight bringing god into it and **** like floyd aient religious himself and it seems so arrogant to say GOD IS ON MY SIDE. but since that fight iv found myself hoping guerrero would get another great win at WW so people will finally conceed he is a good fighter.

ill never fully embrace mayweather because of how he is outside the ring, i dont mind a bit of trash talk here and there and he does back it up but he has no class about him when using it...(i did love his "MAY 5TH I ROCK UP I DO WHAT I DO!, I DNO WHO U BEAT I DNO WHO U ARE!")

alis trash talk was poetic and tongue in cheek so everyone got a kick out of it (his treatment of frazier after ali got out of jail is possibly the worst thing iv seen a boxer do in the lead up to a fight however)

with the guerrero fight no 1 was thinking guerrero could win.. people were concidering (with his jail sentence over) that mayweather would loose if you get me

we were watching to see if the same floyd came out of jail.

its wierd to see a true boxing fan who seems logical to not like floyd to be honest.. all pro, amateur and students of the game that i know love mayweather (not just appreciate his skill like you seem to)

this thread is exactly why i wanted floyd to fight canelo at 154. it does not even matter if floyd wins now, hopefully canelo says **** 152 and just comes in at 154. i think floyd will take the fight and golden boy will pay the bill for canelo coming in 2 pounds over. please canleo come in at 154.

    This.

Probably the ones doing the most bitching are Pac fans, whose boy always looks for Catchweights.

Floyd CATCHweather don't fight at catchweights! That is for Pac. Floyd CATCHweather fights his opponents at their best weight just like he fought Cotto at the full 154lbs and unlike Pac who drained Cotto 2lbs!! Now Floyd CATCHweather is fighting Canelo at the full JrMW limit of 152lbs which is clearly Canelo's best weight

Canelo is going to struggle to get down to 152 lbs, he cant make 147 lbs.

Mayweather on the other hand has twice fought at 154 lbs against DLH and against Cotto.

Goes to show what Mayweather thought about DLH and Cotto as fighters when he was willing to fight them at 154 lbs but not Canelo. :yep

Showtime is basically forcing Mayweather's hand to fight Canelo.
Atrocious Guerrero PPV numbers established that Mayweather needs a bonafide dance partner to sell PPV's!

its two pounds not a whole division...

hes young and in great condition i think he will be fine...

now if he were up there in age and comming down a whole division...i can see the gripe

this man comes in 154lb fights 170ish.....Floyds last two fights at 154 he weighed 150....i dont see the problem

Only gripe i have is when they start creating tittles for bullshyt fights at catchweights

    Cotto/Pac a great fight

    Floyd/Saul a great fight

    Pac/Margarito was utter bullshyt
