I thought Guerrero said that GOD is going to be big in this fight?

From what I hear god is more of a pro wrestling fan. They love some theater.

What about Ray Lewis last year? Ravens were definitely not suppose to win, and had the toughest schedule against anybody (Broncos, patriots, 49ers) and it was Ray's last year. Anybody know what Ray Lewis was constantly doing? Praising God, thanking Jesus, speaking scripture, and game after game... Not one of those games were *easy* but every game they won big in the end.

God doesn't love anybody more than anybody else (believer, non-believer, atheist, murderer, etc) however the bible clearly states he favors those more that love him. Study it out for yourselves what moves the hand of God. It's called FAITH. When Jesus walked this earth, the people around him he constantly mentioned things like "You of little faith.. why do you doubt", OR "your faith has made you well", or "You have great faith!". The more faith they had in him, the more/ greater things he seemingly did for them.

Did you just cite a football anecdote as evidence for the existence of god?

People are just talking about how God didn't come through for Robert Guerrro supposedly, but yet... I'm asking what have they done in their lives that they can compare their lives with him, and after comparing say Robert is a failure? How are you more of a success (with or without God) than Guerrero is? Simple question really. Don't have to be sports related...
I'm personally blessed and live an overall good life, but definitely can't say Robert is a failure or God let him down. I'm happy, but don't have millions, and never got to speak in front of millions. He's a man like me, no greater, no better, but he's very blessed and definitely not a failure. Man walks away from this fight with his head held high.

I'm not trying to prove there is a God. Believe or don't. Somebody mentioned after how Tim Tebow is currently a flop (though his career isn't over), and citing that proves God doesn't favor anybody, but I mentioned a football player who apparently was favored. For Ravens to win, Ray Lewis' last season, he praised God to anybody who'd listen, and every game was a miracle for them to win was very ironic. Don't think anybody could tell me they were suppose to win.
Just because you praise God don't mean you will win every fight, every football game, and you won't go through hardships and fall, but the bible promises every bad thing (whether self inflicted, somebody elses fault, or the devil) God wishes to turn around for good to those that love him.

I think the Tim Tebow reference was just a diss on Tim Tebow, not some attempt at proving that god doesn't help people in sports. To most of us such an idea is so absurd that there is no need to post any evidence refuting it at all.

I'm NOT saying that GOD let Robert down, I'm saying that GOD doesn't choose sides, that belief is destructive because it makes the believer feel that they are first priority when GOD doesn't do that.

Fighters that involve "god" helping them take down their opponent, or something about god and their opponent in their pre-fight hype, always lose or give a bad performance.

You guys remember Ariza saying "Not even god can help Marquez win" for the third Pac fight? And you saw Pacquiao's performance and then the 4 the fight? I don't think that's something a religious camp should say. Isn't that what is called using the lords name in vein? All of these ways that god is being used by these so called religious fighters? I am not religious so I don't know, i'm asking. But to an outsider like me, the way "God" is used by Guerrero and Pacquiao's camp, I don't think it's appropriate.

The gospel is foolishness to men. Once you give your life to Jesus it is Jesus that lives inside. Your life is not yours anymore. You were bought with a price

It's sort of like giving up your ass to a dominant cell-mate. Your life is not yours anymore--he's always inside you.
