Makes me feel like Matt probably deserves the next shot..... I reckon it could be a classic too. Both come to fight, both busy and hooky could be a modern classic.
I agree, although Macklin got beat up in the last round or so. Personally, I can't believe Barker didn't go the Sturm route. The success of the straight right against Sturm is unbelievable. Barker has a lovely straight, direct action.
I had Geale winning close but clear, whereas the Macklin fight could genuinely have gone either way imo. The Macklin fight definitely took more out of Sturm though. Interesting to see where Geale goes, the WBA have mandated that he fights the winner of Golovkin/Proksa, but Sam Soliman is apparently the IBF mandatory, which is a much shitter but unfortunately a much more makeable fight, especially for the Australian audience. Macklin, Murray etc might have to go the hard way about getting another world title shot.
Sturm found more success against Mack but i had Mack a clear winner by few rounds. Geale won and was surprised they gave it to him..lol
Close fight, I had it even going into the last with Geale winning it, I'm shocked he got the nod though, that's twice he's got the decision in Germany, wouldn't happen over here. Macklin v Geale would be a good fight and action packed, I see Geale getting the better of him though, he has a bit more quality than Macklin, imo. All of the above names would lose to Golovkin though, and you can add any other name from middleweight other than Martinez, very impressive.
