Nah. Vlasov's KO of Ravelo saved it. And Luis Ramos Jr. vs. Joshua Allottey was a sleeper that...well...most fans slept on. Good action, probably the best fight of the week and nobody saw it.

It's probably what I would do in his position.

Nino throws wide punches, has no defense, and is slow. Mayol won most of the rounds and has good skills, but started gassing out and started getting caught and trying to be brave inviting Nino to go toe to toe. You don't do that with a brawler or a puncher and his big headedness paid for that. I think Mayol should of gotten a close decision or at least a draw, but he was fighting in the other's guy's turf so he had to win big. No surprise there. Neither impressed me and don't deserve to be champions because they do not fight like one. Neither will be a champ for long.

I am curious as to the punch stats. Mayol had better defense and better offense.

In my opinion they get away with this because Mayol often he would land more punches and more effective punches but nothing earth shattering. Still I had it 9 rounds to 3.

I only scored 5, 8 and 11 for Nino. There were stretches of inactivity from both men, of course there were the butts, Nino cut cut, but that particular butt didn't seem Mayol's fault, the camera was blocked and the telecast in spanish, but it appeared Mayol lost a point for that?

Seemed to me, most of the rounds, when they weren't busy not being busy, it was Mayol that was quicker and landing better effective punches. Nino had some good stretches where the crowd went wild but he clearly lost the fight.

I had Romero winning the 8th, 9th and 11th. 10th was close. 12th Mayol clearly won.

If you have Mayol sweeping the first four rounds like I do, its hard to see Nino the victor

I only watched 2nd half of the fight and thought Romero landed more accurate, cleaner punches. Had him winning 4 of the last 6 rounds.

I had Mayol winning 8 of 12 rounds. The two point deductions were ridiculous, and I can't believe that one judge only gave Mayol one ****ing round.

    Disgrace.

Those were the only rounds he won. I had Mayol sweeping the first 6.

I knew there was going to be home town cooking when open-scoring announced the scores after the first 4 rounds and 1 judge had Nino winning.

Referee was biased too, for that point deduction. Mayol was already coming in and Nino came in next half a second before the headbutt. Also in the 11th Mayol had Nino hurt abit and the referee stopped the action to warn Mayol of headbutting when there was absolutely no headbutts in the exchange.

A watered down version of Ottke/Reid.

At strawweight Mayol was a beast.

His fight with Eagle was a pretty damn good scrap and he hasnt been the same fighter since. His chin has become more weaker and his hunger is gone but atleast he did become a champion at one point in his career.
