Wow you must have been watching the Peter vs Klitschko Tape and not the Klitschko vs Thompson fight, Why what is this adversity you speak of:huh
Exactly either Acid or Crack either way we know how Germans react when the fight is exciting take a look at Abraham Miranda 1 for example, However last night the German crowd just didnt roar the same, and when they did it was simply when Wlad threw something weather he landed or not wasnt what caused the roar it was the fact that he put out a little. but it was too far and few inbetween to call this a fight for the real Heavyweight championship of the world, this is not how the true heavyweight champion is supposed to fight. Stewart has done well with his new line of stars, First Jermain Taylor and Now Wlad, both were better off and more exciting with out him.
Wlad looked good while winning almost every round and then KOing an awkward Southpaw fighter. If he does indeed fight Povetkin next I have no doubt that he will dispose of him in brutal fashion early.
Not so sure about that these days in his last two fights he should have been able to do that as well but it hasnt happend, Wlad IMO and I aint trying to start ****, but I really think he is winding down in his career at this stage. Look all the heavyweight champions in recent times have had about a 5-7 year reign Holyfield, Lewis,Ruiz,Tyson Wlads been there for while now and some fighters do not stay in their prime as long as these guys did. Honestly the best Wlad might have already come and gone and to me IMO Manny isnt helping Wlad he is hurting him more in terms of marketablilty.
Wladimir had trouble opening up on Thompson but he made adjustments & lowered the boom. What's not to like?
Wladimir adjusted to a difficult opponent showing ability to overcome adversity which he supposedly does not have, took a shitload of punches to the body and chin which he supposedly does not have, he constantly threw power punches of his own for 11 heated rounds which he supposedly could never do because of his supposedly inexisting stamina... So basically the haters are right - Wlad did everything wrong. He did the absolute opposite of what everyone was expecting from him - fold from the first punch to the chin, run out of gas after a few punches to the ribs and panik and faint from not being able to put his man away quickly.
Thompson pressured Wlad early in the fight, and while he had to take quite a few right hands to do so, Wlad looked uncomfortable in there, he got butted a few times unintentionally in the clinches (cut looked pretty bad during round 2), but he figured Thompson out and stopped him late.
Wow, Flux, you gonna criticise Thompson as well.. or just hate on Wlad? Never, ever, have I heard a fighter take so much **** for breaking down a guy and getting a KO. Never. Pure, utter hate.
You could say all that about every fight WALD has ever been in though to be fair. I took out the one about body shots and uppercuts, he doesn't have uppercuts in his arsenal, that much is obvious.
