I thought Matthysse would pull it off, but I knew it wasn't going to be easy, or early. If people didn't believe in Garcias chin before tonight (really all they had to do was watch the Holt fight, Holt landed flush bombs) they will now. How he took some of those shots is really something rare and bizarre lol. Same with Lucas actually with some of those. Just an insane display of chin by both guys. I will say though, that Danny needs better defense. Doesn't matter how good your chin is, when you get hit as much as Danny does, it will crack sooner rather then later in a fight down the line. Boxing is a marathon, not a sprint, and if you want to reach the finish line, you need defense. Hope they start working on that a bit more. I am disappointed though, really wanted Lucas to win this one. To be honest though by about round 5 I actually was afraid that Lucas was the one who might get stopped later on. Congrats to Danny, though those lowblows were some straight bull****. But this fight was a special matchup. Garcia just beat a legit, prime, good chinned, real contender, and though Im disappointed, have to also feel happy for Garcia once again proving his doubters wrong.
Congrats Royal. I picked Danny to win as well. People just don't want to look at it for what it is. Danny can box. Has good timing, power and can adjust. He also has good game plans. He may end up getting the Money May sweepstakes soon!
Even fight until his eye closed and he couldnt dip the hook anymore. Landing multiple low blows also helps.
I really didn't think Danny was going to be able to stick to his game plan the way he did. He showed he's got a great chin, good speed, and fights smart! Props to Danny Swift Garcia!
he deserves it, there's no one hotter between 140-154. danny will be runner up for fighter of the year but they'll give it to mayweather for his 3rd time
