i agree with you...I would be shocked if Oscar doesnt Ko him...he's right there to be hit, and hit often. People forget that Oscar has fought tougher fighters than Manny...and no slight to Manny, he's just too small.

 

Now or before, he still captured that spot and is generally considered the top fighter in boxing as a whole whether he returns or not. Whether you consider the fighters he beat before for the #1 spot as top fighters is your own personal opinion, fact is he still captured that spot and if he returns from retirement it will be for a mega-fight and neither Margarito nor Williams provide that who are fighters establishing themselves as major names in boxing only now.

In the end fans remains fans and their opinions don't determine who is really #1 according to boxing rules. Like you would consider Margarito and Williams as major names, there are others who thought the same about Judah and Baldomir back when Floyd was only rumored to fight them, as soon as the fight was over a list of excuses to discredit those victories were there and that didn't change the fact that Floyd REMAINED the #1 fighter and welterweight because as I said and repeat, what fans think is divided to a million things and like they discredited the other wins he had they will continue to do the same regardless of whether he fought and beat Margarito and Williams or not. It's not Floyd's problem Judah had the #1 spot when he moved to Welterweight then Baldomir captured it, if anything blame Margarito for not holding that, Floyd won't donate that position for free because a few fans think he should, it's Margarito who thought his WBO title was good enough proof to consider him #1 but only found out otherwise recently as that title was dropped he started to get the major fights he always wanted.

I get your point though and Margarito is considered the #1 Welterweight now, don't really know if Floyd is motivated enough to capture that spot or go for a mega-fight, he's still retired and this thread is based on assumption we don't know if it's true or not till Floyd makes something public or remains retired. As I said he still captured that spot before and isn't anything new for someone who is generally considered the #1 fighter.

 

Uhhh........if you say so.:huh Floyd doesn't fight who the fans want to see him fight, he only fights the big money fights. He continues to avoid big names like Margarito, Cotto, and Williams. Don't tell me Margarito-Mayweather won't be a big money fight. Floyd would get tons of money for taking that fight.
