Guy can't even stop someone that isn't throwing anything back. He's slow as hell and has low output. Fury would have boxed his head off please. Maybe 15 years ago he woulda been good. Too old, too damn slow, too wide with his shots.
Well, we certainly saw a weakness in Ortiz's game that we hadn't seen before. Scott was terrified of Ortiz's power and basically ran most of the time, but Ortiz couldn't catch up, trap him, and finish him off. Malik Scott-level fighters are also scared of GGG or Kovalev, but they don't let them escape like Ortiz did.
idk i think ortiz is gonna be extremely active on his way out so hes preserving himself. he didnt use up a ton of energy to knock this guy out . he will put everything out there if he gets a chance on his way out cuz hes old if he wins his big fight i dont kno how much longer he can go after. i really do think ortiz vs a big name is in the near future possibly aj or wilder.
I guess we should start calling Andre Ward shot and overrated cos he couldn't stop a 40 year old man. The same 40 year old who came to survive just like Malik Scott. Some of you sound like you only started watching boxing last week. Go watch Ali vs Karl Milenburger
Destroy maybe a bit of an exaggeration as Joshua is far more aggressive than Scott and would give Ortiz more chances to land a big counter. But what Scott exposed in Ortiz suggests he can be out boxed, a patient and methodical Joshua could pile up points and gradually break him down and eventually those counter right hands AJ likes to throw would take there toll and see him stopped. I'd still see Ortiz as a dangerous opponent but Joshua would be the favourite even though Ortiz has the better resume.
I do believe you're right, this happens when the best avoid each other in a division,of course one bad fight against an opponent who never came to fight doesn't make Ortiz bad overnight but to be honest he never impressed me to begin with?
I won't pour hate on the man like that after one fight. I still think that he a top rated HW and any fighter that get in the ring with him shouldn't play him cheap or they might find themselves being woke up by the ref.
