I truly believe Mayweather Promotions will overtake Top Rank/GBP in the next 10 years

and you think they will be going up against phoenix online university grads? theyre making money because they handle a bunch of meatheads that are easily manipulated. they cant even outsmart a senile old man who they would rather avoid than try and outsmart.

 

When I look at guys like Love, Smith and Arias, I am reminded of the "Team Cannon" promotions trio of Leon Nolan, Rydell Booker and Rubin Williams, three VERY AVERAGE fighters that some asinine promoter tried to shove down everyone's throat. If you read fightnews about 10 years (and I'm sure many of you did) you'll remember all those "Team Cannon" adds (they were very annoying).

Booker is now in jail, Williams is 29-24 and Nolan got out of boxing after getting absolutely wrecked by Povetkin. And these were three guys that some promoter said were going to rule the boxing world.

GTFOH with this ****. Love, Smith, Arias and Floyd Pomotions Inc. are here today and gone tomorrow. Like one poster said, they have one guy, FLOYD. No one gives a **** about anyone else under their banner.

 

You would have to be the most deluded fan boy on Earth to think TMT promotions would overtake the top companies, OH WAIT!!!

Compared to his relatively small stable of fighters, seems like a lot of issues with PED. Bey and Love both were suspended for violating drug policy.

Seems like his fighters are not that good, as well. Smith lost his title in his 1st defense, and the Molina fight was so dreadful that nobody cares much to see Smith back in action. Love is almost beaten by Rosado and Periban. I think I remember Badou Jack getting KTFO quite recently. Looking at the record, that Luis Arias guy fought 5 months ago and got a MD against a guy with a sub -.500 record.

If Mayweather wants to become a great promoter, he needs to get good fighters. If he could sign someone like an Errol Spence, Jr., that would be a good start. I just question how much Mayweather will be interested in promoting once his career ends. I guess he could just leave it to his lackey Ellerbe.

We'll get some sense of what kind of promoter Mayweather is with this Moment rematch. No matter what you think, established promoters like GBP and Top Rank are good at their jobs. That's why so many fighters work with them. Where will this promotion be without the nuts and bolts support of Golden Boy.

Finally, I doubt we'll see Al Haymon recede anytime soon. I doubt he'll want any of his money taken by Mayweather promotions. Most agree that Haymon, not DLH, Schaefer, or even Mayweather is really the boss of boxing.

You need a promotes license first and foremost.Does mayweather promotions have a promoters license??

 

Mayweather is just setting the stage now. He's running lean right now to build his bank up proper. I think he's only going to fight two more times and retire, then he's gonna make his move. The stage is already set and all he has to do get a promotional license which should be no problem.

 

MP is going to have to step up their game if they are going to over take the top promoters.
