Legend2, your intial hunch would be the correct one. Mayweather's defensive skills how ever great they are, will not prevent him from getting hit. It's going to come down to the volume of connected punches, as well as who can take those punches.

Pacquiao is in his prime mentally and physically. He's not going to get discouraged like Judah. And he ain't gonna mysteriously stop punching like Mosley. Pacquiao's defensive skills aren't close to Mayweather, but he's willing to take 1 punch to land multiple combinations.

Pacquiao would stop him in the late rounds. :D

You must be outta yo gotdamn mind.:rofl

Martinez is the real deal, son. You're talking about a guy who

    1) Has just as good of one-punch handspeed as Pac
    2) Has as good of stamina as Pac
    3) Hits harder than Pac (Hurt a 179 tough-as-nails Pavlik)
    4) Has better foot movement than anyone Pac has ever dreamed of facing
    5) Is a slicker fighter than anyone Pac has ever faced
    6) Is also bigger and stronger than anyone Pac has faced

Size itself isn't the important thing, but the fact that he has all of these other attributes along with size make him an impossible fight for Pac.

At first I thought this thread was another pointless Pac/Floyd garbage thread but then I thought....No its even crappier:good
Not but honestly you have a point. Floyd has a large pedigree of fighters hes faced including the amateurs. Floyd has been outboxing just about every different style out there. While Pac on the other hand has faced mostly fighters who are in front of him willing to trade. The only times Pac has struggled recently are when hes face a more experienced boxer puncher, imagine a pure boxer with arguably the best defense right now?

  7. this *** is the biggest pac nuthugger in the world. its ****ing ridiculous. pac can do no wrong in his eyes. theres no point in arguing with him or her or it about anything pacquiao related. and he ends every post with this :hi: ... youre gay.
anyways, if they do fight, i think floyd is going down. pacquiao's too strong for him. i think pacquiao can walk through floyds best punches with little or no trouble.

There are two reasons people want to see this fight:
    1. Genuine doubt as to the outcome.
    2. The possibility of seeing Floyd get his ass kicked.

Unfortunately, due to reason 2, we won't get to see it.

    Quite agree on this.

But then if ever there will be a time if suddenly a match would be made with both, it would be interesting, just like Oscar before the fight.

I've said this for the longest. Pac will struggle with PBF because he's not used to fighting anyone who's even remotely close to being as athletic as him and he's never fought anyone with fast hands or good defense. He's used to the same brawling fighters who are there to be hit with slow hands that he can exploit. When he gets into the ring with someone who's as good as an athlete as him and a better boxer he'll be in for shock and so will his fans.:deal Add to that he's fighting someone with longer reach and a natural counter puncher and you see why PBF is the favorite going in. Where as PBF has fought more styles than Pac has. He's fought guys with faster hands who could beat him to the punch like Zab and adjusted accordingly. We don't know if Pac can adjust since he pretty much fights the same way all the time and he's never faced a slick fighter.

Name one of those past five fighters who has the

    Speed
    Power
    Footwork
    Overall Slickness
    Size

that Martinez has. Go ahead. Name one. He is better in every single way than every single one of Pac's last opponents. At some point enough is enough. And Martinez, the same guy who dismantled a 179-lb. MW Champ, is way past that point.
