I think it would be funny if Canelo could not make 154. I still want him to win. If he does not make weight he does not walk away with the belt even with a win and his Canelo weight at mw would look stupid. I wonder what his next move would be then.
Canelo would just defend the 155lb title against whoever wants a payday that Oscar knows has no chance. As for the fight with Smith, Canelo better hope he can hurt the brit early or he'll be in for a long night. If at any time after the 5th round Smith feels victory in his bones then Canelo will likely get a Texas style decision victory which will spell disaster for a future GGG fight and delude the value of it tremendously. Oscar might of wished he'd cashed ginger out sooner by taking the GGG fight instead of this one. Now, that would be funny.

Canelo will outbox Smith, Smith's biggest problem is he is a pressure fighter who is direct but does not show any angles and he's only mode of protection is a high guard, Callum is also like this. There the prototype Gallagher fighters, not much head movements, angles, just go to the body and head, cover up when in trouble, problem is against boxers with movement these guys struggle. I think Smith makes this interesting never the less provided he has a decent chin because he is a good body puncher and canelo probably wont like that especially having to get that last lb off. Canelo will make weight probably with a little help (wink wink) .
