Boxing is a business and they're building the Golovkin brand. His popularity has grown tremendously due to his fan friendly style. Their strategy seems to match him up against guys with little shot to last the distance, or a big name. Knocking guys out and beating other champs/big names are how you can build yourself up. Golovkin's trainer himself said he wouldn't put Golovkin in there with a guy unless he thought Golovkin would look spectacular. Don't misconstrue what I'm saying, Golovkin is extremely talented. However, they are not about to put him in there with a guy who could make it an ugly fight if it's not a big name or another belt holder.

    This is a great fight.

The best at 154 vs the best at 160.

Take note other divisional champs , fight the best.

The Olympic qualifier loss was his one loss to Despaigne who he won his series with. Yes i assumed chicano was outright lying which many of his threads seem to be i don't understand why ones like these arent deleted.

Incidentally, it totally slipped my mind that Golovkin and Andy Lee had already fought each other before in the amateurs.

And if true this is a really impressive amateur win for Golovkin that's not listed on his Wiki or his Boxrec bio.

Lara doesn't run his twitter, he doesn't know how to. He made a comment saying he will fight anyone 154-160, some said "even GGG" and he said of course. He wants mayweather just as bad.

Lara would get smashed in my opinion but you gotta respect his testicular fortitude. I'm assuming Lara is willing to move up since he's calling out Golovkin? I hope they make it happen. ....It's interesting if nothing else.

I always thought Lara should move to 160 and challenge Quillen for his title. GBP doesn't have a lot of options for Quillen and Lara moving up would be a pretty good match.

I don't know if a Golovkin-Lara match up is even possible since Golovkin is with HBO and Lara GBP but if it happened its a pretty interesting match up.

Golovkin would knock Lara out. If Angulo can land punches on Lara, then Golovkin surely can............the problem is that if Golovkin knocks Lara out, then he would get no credit for doing such. Golovkin is counting on a fight with the winner of Martinez/Cotto.............
