Fight someone easily winnable like Rios (maybe in the Philippines?). Go out with a W.

If that had been their 1st fight then I absolutely would want to see another one because then I can say the KO was a fluke. But it isn't a lucky shot. Marquez has been landing that money shot repeatedly since their 1st fight. He's found a way to add more power to it and that spells real danger for Pac's health. I can honestly say, if the shoe was on the other foot and it had been JMM who was brutally KOed I wouldn't want to see 5 because I would be afraid for my fighter. Why would you Pac fans put him through that kind of a risk? Think about it. He nearly died in the ring. A KO is the perfect way to end their story. Even if Pac wins there's not much satisfaction in beating up a 40 yr old who finally aged overnight.

Pac has had 4 attempts. His most convincing win was a SD which he edged out by only one point if I'm not mistaken. We all know he got a gift decision in the third fight. That was competitive but still a clear win for JMM. Part 4 was a nail in the coffin. No mas.

What's there to prove? Nothing is the answer. Pac is the better athlete. JMM is the better boxer. That's all there is to it.

I hope Marquez walks away. He has achieved what he wanted to and should go out on top.

It wasnt another close and controversial end that justifies another fight. It was a pretty definitive conclusion!

The backlash a lot of people on here gave the 3rd and 4th fight when they were announced was unreal. Now that Pacquiao loses they say there has to be a 5th. If Pacquiao would have done that to Marquez would we all be calling for a 5th fight!?!

It would be nice if they both retired now. It could lead to one hell of a HOF Induction weekend if Morales and Barrera were to retire now as well!

actually it is 6th if you know the history. go back to the 2nd fight.

jmm was about to go down but hang on the the ropes. and got back up. but if you want to be technical about it, go back and watch the fight again. :yep

you're missing the fact that it's business.....and a fifth fight will sell HUGE...ASTRONOMICAL...figures......it'll be easy to promote and its got all the elements it needs to capture even the most casual fans imagination.....it's the greatest rivalry in modern day boxing.

you also say it was 'conclusive'....but pacquaio was winning that fight, and was possibly only a round or two from stopping marquez, especially considering the blood flowing which would have swayed the doctor or ref to stop it if it wasnt going marquez's way.........actually, pacquaio probably looked better before the big ko than he ever has done against marquez.

they say mayweather v pacquaio would have been the biggest money generating fight ever....but i honestly think that any potential viewers / customers of that fight would also buy into a fifth fight here........if the fight was made in six months, would you watch it??...regardless of if you say theres a need or not for it, as a boxing fan, truthfully, would you watch it ??

We can all want but the rivalry is over IMO.

3 close fights. I had JMM winning two of them.

Pac winning the 4th pretty clearly for the most part and gets KOed.

    It's done.

i do hear you...and what you say is understandable.

but...this is a business, and at this level its very big business.

from a fan, sporting, view i can nod my head at you....but the fact is, people will watch a fifth fight, people WILL pay premium money to watch a fifth fight....and it's money that talks in this game.....who was it who said "if it makes business sense....it makes sense"
