As the new generation of ESB posters emerge, we have more silly debates these days. Now ah days, if a KO artist knocks out a well
known up and coming boxer, he gets labeled glass jaw. So in ESB logic, every opponent Trinidad, Tyson, Hearns all fought were glass jaw opponents, discrediting these boxers punch.

Perfect example is Khan vs Prescott. While i'm no fan of Khan since he hasn't impressed me yet, the guy gets bashed for having a glass jaw. I would love to see you guys take those bombs he took from Prescott.

And the famous Roy Jones debate. Jones gets caught with a huge left from Tarver out of no where and suddenly he's glass jaw.

    Gentlemen... DISCUSS!!!!

PS: Great Article.... Yeah yeah save it.

Khan is considered a glass jaw because he was very close to getting KO'ed by Willie Limond and Michael Gomez. Jones because he was KO'ed by Tarver, Johnson and Danny Green.

Well they call Gamboa a glassjaw and he hasn't being ko, go figure! They don't know the difference between off balance, weak chins, good punchers and granite chins.

I could understand Khan, but that punch from Tarver clearly destroyed Roys punch resistance. I mean look at that huge ass left hook, it's not like Tarver thru a pitty ass left jab you know lol

Khan's ability to take a shot is clearly poor he has been hurt and dropped by fighters who clearly are not big hitters.

Jones chin isn't glass it's definitely a weakness but that's only compared to his other attributes that are almost super natural. Getting KO'ed by a puncher is not really a sign of being chinny. But he will always be susceptible to big punchers but then again so are most fighters even great ones.

I always thought there was a difference between a guy who takes a shot or two every fight and works through it and a guy who goes down with the first good shot. Too many youngsters want to label a guy 10 times tougher than them a glass jaw. Computer tough guy syndrome at its best.

A massive fat neck helps, but ultimately i think its like a puncher, your either born with it or not

khan was a big lightweight who got wobbled by every flush punch he took from featherweights. just about every prescott opponent with a winning record other than khan have took those bombs easily. a clip to the temple ffs, it wasn't mercer -morrison, prescott has only laid out guys with 0-19 records and khan.

he even caught richie abril with the exact same combination and didn't faze him.

Ruiz has been labelled glass jaw after Tua, but since then, how much he was hated and criticised, he was always praised and has been given credit for having one of the thoughest beards in the sport. Even though the his corner threw in the towel in the Haye fight, I thought Johnny was far from being KO'd clean and could gone the distance!!

that's the point, khans chin is consistently bad, his legs went ****ing crazy every time he was clipped.

I've seen numerous posts that labeled Miranda as a fragile fighter with a weak chin. Ya -- he's been stopped by two brutal punchers and a heavy handed guy who landed somewhere around 200 right hands on him. Simpley does not make sense.
