I want your ranking of all the greatest polynesian heavyweights ever

    Polynesian is Samoan, Hawaiian, Tongan, Maori, Fijian (Kali Meehan).

    I was thinking about the toughness and power and chins of polynesian heavyweights so how about a ranking of the polynesian heavyweights head to head?

    How about resume?

    I think Leapai is decent and would topple Fa, Hopoate.

    How about Leapai vs Ahio, Opelu, Kali Meehan?

    Jimmy Thunder does he knock out Leapai, Meehan, Ahio, Opelu, Hopoate?

    Then again Tua knocks them all out, right?

    Today's Parker beats Tua via easy UD? Is Parker the greatest H2H polynesian heavyweight of all time?

    Where does Maori Shane Cameron sit on your list of all time polynesian heavyweights?

    Where do you put Olympic silver medalist Paea Wolfgramm? (Lost to wladimir Klitschko, beat Thunder)

    Tua and Parker far outweigh all others

    Today's Parker wins a UD over any version of Tua, in my view

    Interesting Bowie Tupou has a fight this week-end.

    Massive solid bloke. I was spending a bit of time with a Tongan and some Pacific Islanders around the time he was emerging. He hit his ceiling when he stepped up, but he Demetrice King aside, he really stepped up a lot quickly taking on Scott and Jennings, then Parker.

    Good to see his name in the mix here.

    Yeh, that's a good win. I mainly remember Fujimoto from his hair-styles.

    Believe it or not. I do remember that fight.
    I also remember looking his name up on Boxrec years after (for some reason) and finding he fought and lost twice more and that was it.

    I'm probably being biased as I grew up watching him and was fascinated by him but I'm picking Tua as my #1.

    Nice topic. Tongan Heavyweight Kitione Lave deserves a mention. He compiled an impressive 51-18-2 (43 KO) ledger fighting in the 1950s and 60s. Fought all over the Pacific as well as the UK, Italy, Germany and the US. Probably his best win was stopping former Heavyweight challenger Don Cockell in 2 rounds, just a year after it took Rocky Marciano 9 rounds for the same result.

    Lost on points to Joe Bygraves for the Commonwealth Heavyweight title. Lost on points to Brian London too.

    Some good lists agree with the general consensus Parker and Tua are the best.
    Justis Huni is of Tongan decent so he should make the cut and will be even higher when its all said and done.
    Opetaia not a heavyweight but good chance he will go down as the greatest Poly fighter of all time.
    Good to see a couple NRL boys get a mention in Solomon Haumono and John Hopoate.

    Paulo Aokuso is also a good light heavyweight who represented Australia at the 2020 Olympics he is 7-0 as a pro but his career has had management issues hopefully he can get them sorted as he is a great talent.
