Tom Spring - one of the few men who could claim, that he beat every opponent he ever met.

Yes, when Tom Gribb retired in 1821, he handed the belt and Championship to Tom Spring.

none of the above my guy was much later on than "Spring" and smaller than "Kid Mccoy" and "Spring".My guy was given his title from a friend who had grown out of his weight class(the friend is considered one of the p4p greatest boxers in history). My guy's record is in a class of very limited fighters.

Heres another hint: my guy retired never tasting defeat although he did have some draws. He was 20 years old when he received his title.

good job hh, Jack McAuliffe is right, he recieved his belt from his friend the great "nonpareil" Jack Dempsey who was moving up weight when he was 20 years old,he retired with no loses only some draws,he also gave "Young Griffo" his first loss.

He also on his record has a fight location as a "barn" which I found kind of funny it reminded me of Clint Eastwood's movie ending in "any which you can" where they have a bareknuckle fight in a barn.

Yes, I have ring announced Amateur Boxing Shows in Dover, New Jersey many times. The last time was on the 25th of September of this year and I would bring that up from time to time. Even their Mayor didn't know that.
