    Brother of Richie Mitchell.

    Of course, I don't know which one of the Mitchell Brothers was the better (this is a SF joke that fellows in the east will not get).

    Old Fogey, You are correct...It was the much less talented brother Pinky Mithell who became jr Welkterweight champion by "vote" Nov.15,1923..
    His much better boxing brother Richie Mitchell at 135 lbs,who licked the
    likes of Freddie Welsh, Mex Joe Rivers, Johnny Kilbane etc never became a champ, though much the better fighter.:good

    They had a famous nightclub for adult entertainment in SF. Being a serious, bookish, type, I only know about them by reputation, of course.
