Don't know if it counts but Paul Berlenbach was deaf as a child but later regained his hearing following an accident involving an electric wire.
And he hit hard all right, arguably the hardest hitting light heavy until ageless Archie emerged on the scene.
Plus he was an olympic wrestling champ so he was truly unique.

 

That's who I named after. I figured it was him because he fought a lot of top boxers like you stated.

 

I didn't know Dallas Vargas was deaf. :think

Former bantam champ Mario D'Gata is the only deaf world champion i know about.

 

Jose Hernandez was a deaf mute.
