I was a marvel HOF/seldom trained sad end ?

    I was a ring marvel of my weight..But I trained with John Barleycorn too
    often..Spent my last years alone on Broadway stoops. Who was I ?

    No hh..It is a fighter who my dad while driving his cab at night would occasioaly see sitting alone on a stoop in the Broadway area of NYC...
    Sad ending for a great ex HOFamer..b.b.

    Well, Panama Al Brown fits, as he he drink a lot and was found on the streets in New York.

    Not sure Walker had a tragic ended. Sure he went broke, but that does not mean tragic like murder.

    Young Griffo,it was...He was by all reports a ring marvel, who was a heavy
    drinker in his heyday..But still held his own with the likes of joe Gans, George Dixon, Kid Lavigne, Jack McAuliffe etc...He was from Australia, but remained in the U.S.A. after his retirement...
    My dad in the early 1920s, would while driving his cab, see this old and fat
    man sitting alone on the stone steps in the Broadway area...Sad ending to
    the original 'Will Of The Wisp"...
