Oh dear. Nallege is being even more of a confused, racist moron than usual on this thread.

The fight was close enough to go either way, but anyone scoring it for Castillo doesn't know how to score a fight...

Dont see how you could give Castillo round 3. He landed basically one punch that round, a round floyd controlled with his jab.

Lederman mentioned that he gave Castillo the third round based on a couple of shots Castillo landed against Mayweather while Mayweather was on the ropes. Those were probably the first times Mayweather had been hit cleanly up to that point in the fight, and it impressed Lederman enough to give Castillo the round.

But I thought that Mayweather won the round based on the clean punches he landed throughout -- punches which our eyes were already accustomed to seeing by that point in the fight."

:good Also remember that Lampley during the Mayweather Castillo 2 fight said that the majority of ringside observers scored it for Floyd.

I haven't seen the fight in a few months, but I believe it is Round 8 where Castillo lands a chopping right hand that lands flush on Floyd. Ruthless. Floyd's chin was tested big there.

Edit: As for the fight itself, I scored it for Mayweather while acknowledging that it is close enough that I don't dispute much one way or the other.

Ill do a round by round myself and post it. At least the fight was not boring... I tried to rewatch Hoya-Trinidad once to score it... couldnt make it till the end.

I thought it was a close fight, but it's difficult for me to understand how anyone could give the 3rd to Castillo. Neither man mounts much of an offense, but Floyd displayed excellent defense to give him the clear nod.

And at the point Castillo dropped the first four rounds, winning a decision became nearly impossible. It's asking too much.
