Hatton's supposed big win is over an inactive Tszyu in which he cheated his way to a victory with low-blows, using his head illegally, and rabbit-punching.

 

Hatton was the underdog in both his fights with Tyszu and Castillo..... Funny how a fighter suddenly becomes shot when he loses !!!

His resume is ok, borederline "good".

The win over Tszyu was an excellent one, no matter what the haters say. Tszyu was the linear champ, the P4P #3 at the time, had just destroyed Shabra Mitchell, and still fairly young. Hatton was the big underdog for the Tszyu fight, the same as he was against Castillo - who was faded, but Hatton beat him impressively, stopping him with body shot early on. Remember, Castillo had beat Corrales only about 1 year or so before.

Malignaggi, the #2 guy at 140, Hatton got the stoppage.
Urango - very underrated win over a guy on the up.
Got a gift against Collazo.
After that his resume kind of falls off a cliff. An old Vince Phillips and Ben Tackie (a guy who lost on points to Alfonso Gomez!). Throw in a few semi-decent domestic fighters, and like I said, it's borderline "good".

 

Well in that case Hatton went in there and did what he had to do. And he looked very good in doing it.

 

People on these boards are completely, utterly losing it when it comes to resume, as anything other than a top quality top50 ATG resume is 'overrated' and worth nothing. Even Hopkins all beat smaller men and DLH lost to every elite fighter, so don't expect too much credit from fans refusing to look beyond of 'P4P', 'HOF', 'ATG', '... of the past decade' '... since Leonard' '... of the modern era' '... of all times' topics.

Among today's active titleholders, Hatton has an exceptionally good resume, let's compare it to legends when he retires. So far it has a win over P4P-er and reigning undisputed LWW champ Tszyu, reigning ABC champ Maussa, reigning ABC WW champ Collazo, although very close win debated by some, reigning ABC champ Urango (2-time champ now), P4P-er and The Ring #1 Castillo, loss to P4P#1 and undisputed WW champ Mayweather, The Ring lower top10 contender Lazcano and The Ring #1, reigning ABC champ Malignaggi. Now P4P#1 PacMan is lined up.

The resume is very good, and if you simply look at the quantity of quality opponents, he's one of the 'bravest' to constantly face elite fighters, although there's a loss in that run and experts predict his 2nd vs. Pacquiao in May.

 

His resume is not up to much.

He beat Tszyu. That's all it really has going for it, and if you put that into its proper context with the reffing its still not hugely impressive. Still, I give him credit for this.

Castillo was completely done, struggling on the scales, only just beat Ndougjo prior, and has been poor since.

Next you have B levels like Collazo where he was fortunate to get the nod, Urango, Maussa, Malignaggi etc. Just solid B level fighters, nice wins but nothing extraordinary.

He really needs this win against Pacquiao to bolster his resume and to take it into the next level.

 

Thats too much to ask, and just the one next to him will give him a hell of a fight.
