I was rewatching the Dawson vs Adamek fight, seeing if Chad was indeed a Taylor twin

You should check out his fight against Thomas Ulirch when he first fought for the title, he actually knocked him out with one punch. Adamek always had power, and you can not just go up in weight and become a knockout puncher. Granted the move up in weight made him stronger, but he has always punched extremely hard. Punchers are born, not made when you move up in weight.

The fact of the matter is that Dawson did the right things against Adamek after he did get knocked down, I don't think Taylor clinched one time when he was hurt against Froch or Pavlik. Its just a different level of boxing IQ between the two.

Dawson did do the right things vs Adamek, and I still consider that Chad's best win and best performance.

I've seen the Ulrich fight and other of Adamek's LHW fights, and while he was always exciting there, he's a better, harder hitting fighter now at Cruiserweight- he's wearing down and knocking out higher caliber fighters than guys he wasn't stopping at LHW, where he wasn't a pure puncher. Not having to cut 25 lbs of weight is helping him out tremendously.

The main point of what I was saying, though, wasn't that guys like Adamek and Tarver can't punch- just that the guys who knocked out Taylor hit harder at their respective weight classes than the people Chad's fought at his class. People didn't want to argue that, so they misdirected and brought up other **** that I replied to even though it was off topic.

Dawson would outbox Pavlik easily, as for Froch, Dawson would beat the crap out of him.

Adamek has just caught Dawson with a shot in the 10th, possibly sensing an opportunity Adamek commences with a vicious assault against Dawson against the ropes, any second you can feel that Dawson is gonna be caught with something big and then *BOOM* Dawson roles Adameks flails and catching him with a crisp right hook off the ropes, Adamek is visibly stunned, he backs up across the ring and you can see the "oh ****!" look on his face. Dawson stalks him again, and starts pouding on Adamek with combinations on the ropes, Dawson being aware of himself, backs off the assault, and then proceeds to circle the ring popping jabs in his face.

The start of round 12, Adamek against comes out trying to pressure Dawson. Dawson moves around the ring fluidly, whenever Adamek gets close he hits him with a straight right hand, then follows up with a quick combination and gets out. Adamek finally counters Dawson against the ropes, then *BOOM* gets caught with another right hand, Adamek steps back, gathers himself then attempts to assault Dawson again, Dawson catches Adamek with a body shot right to the gut, you can literally see the air leave Adameks body, there is about 1 minute left in the fight, and Adamek is done, his assault is no longer as furious as it had been just a moment ago, the beast has essentially been tamed. For the rest of the round, whenever Adamek gets close, Dawson simply grabs him then punches out of the clinch, scoring more points against an Adamek that looks completely out of ideas.

So in analyzing the last rounds of this fight, it is obvious to me, a 24 year old Dawson was far more composed, more aware of himself and far smarter in taking on a similar opponent in Adamek then Taylors efforts against Pavlik and Froch. The youngster was in there with a class fighter and never lost himself, and even after being knockdown never panicked and stuck to his gameplan and landed some shots on Adamek that would have dropped any other normal chinned fighter in the world.
