I was Willie Pep, before Willie Pep,no champ?

    I had everything that Willie Pep had,except a title..I was a dazzling boxer
    as fast as Willie, and in 239 fights, though a light puncher, I was never KNOCKED OUT or stopped...Who was I ?

    my grandfather used to talk a lot about young stribling been a great non-world champ...he used to tell me about listening to him v max schmelling on the radio...
    not sure how a heavy would compare to willie pep though :)

    Yeah, except Young Stribling has more KO's than anyone in history outside of Archie Moore, so it's safe to say he doesn't really qualify. Nor does Billy Graham, being as he came along during the same time as Pep.

    You're just naming random names now. Wouldn't it be wise to assume that the man he's calling an earlier Willie Pep actually resembled Willie Pep in some way?

    B,this is your best win..Benny valger [The French Flash ] was as good a boxer as his stablemate benny Leonard, except Valger was a light puncher [19 kos]...He was lightning fast and in about 239 recorded bouts, was never KOd or stopped...A thin man with an iron jaw...B, you're good.:good

    Thanks, Burt... I figured it had to be either Valger or Harry Stone, and of the two it was Valger, who resembled Pep the most.
