I Watched A Few Tony Thompson Fights Yesterday

I think he's a little better than that.

Bear in mind i've only seen him against Guinn, though. But Guinn at that time was on a hot comeback but beaten pretty badly by Thompson. He showed excellent stamina (50+ punches a round), solid defence, pretty good handspeed, technical fundaments, never rocked. All he lacks is a big punch, which is exactly what you need against Wlad.

 

3-4 rounds and this fight will be over... Wlad will throw the right hand early this time

 

Thompson got a better chin than Austin and will last longer.
