I watched this the other day and was highly impressed with Abraham's elusive power. Arthur has won me over honestly, especially in their first go round. Did yall see the swelling that was going on due to his broken jaw?Simply amazing,What a warrior.I thought Adrian Direll did a bit of acting in Abraham's disqualification loss to him. Arthur is clearly the better fighter of the two.Thoughts?????
Abraham is one of my favorite fighters. Having said that Dirrell is a nightmare matchup for him and was winning that fight easily.
I think Dirrell's concussion speaks for itself, although I wouldn't think Arthur intentionally cheated, then turned around and celebrated excitedly at the ref like he just won the fight. But anyway, Miranda was the best I've seen him in the first AA fight and still lost. I don't think he ever got into the second fight and after the first it seemed like kind of a letdown to me. But Arthur was deceptively smart at the end. Those weren't wide punches from a guy who can't punch in a compact manner. Those were intentional deliberate ushering tactics. Edit: I must have glazed over that last line. I think Dirrell is a superior athlete and whether or not he is the better total package as a fighter needs some more time at the top to judge, imo.
Exactly. The rematch might happen if they both advance to the semi-finals where they get seeded by points. They won't rematch before then because that would throw the tournament in jeopardy.
If that fight was ant where other than germany it would have been stopped. I truly admire abraham for fighting on, but honestly he lost that fight. In my opinion miranda would get KTFO by everybody in the super 6. So what does that about abraham. BTW did you notice his trainier slapping him in the face between rounds. If it wasn't painful enough to have miranda continally land bombs on his broken cartoon-like jaw!!!
Dirrell really was puttin a clinic on abraham that nite. The antics got all the headlines, but lost in the story was an amazing gameplan on beating king arthur.
It probably would've been stopped in America in the modern day. But that's meaningless to me. International sport, cultures will react differently. He was in his backyard and said he wanted to continue. It is what it is. If it were America in the fifties, it probably would've went on too. If it were Mexico where neither man is from, it wouldn't surprise me if it continued. Miranda fought Ward and wasn't "KTFO" so I doubt he'd be stopped by all in the tournament since it's been proven he wouldn't. But also, that was Miranda at middleweight in the first fight where he was larger to his competition by comparison.
Dirrell is far superior. Dirrell possesses potential greatness. We have already seen and know everythng abraham can do. He has been what he is for the last 6 years. Dirrell still is improving and his coming out of exchanges with abraham not being hit and landing the only shot numerous times showed that greatness. Dirrell is gonna win the super six and that will be realized when he shows that he is superior to andre ward also. The froch fight was all about bad gameplan from too much respect for froch's power. Nobody talks about how dirrell got offensive with froch the last 2 rounds and froch STILL WASN'T ABLE TO HIT HIM. If they faught again dirrell would be agressive from the start and prolly knock him out
Who's "Adrian" Dirrell? . Abraham was coming on at the end of the Dirrell fight, the knock down was legit and Dirrell had little left. Let's be honest Dirrell heard the ref tell AA if he was knocked out he's getting DQ'd and used it to finish the fight early. The right man won regardless but I wouldnt have been suprised to see AA KO him with little time left.
That threw me off too. I think he means "subtle explosiveness" which also is a seemingly oxymoron, but people always say Abraham has slow hands but in a lot of his fights he surprises people with it...kinda deceptive.
Abraham does with speed what Calzaghe often did with power. Abraham will go slow and wide three times then compact and relatively fast all of a sudden. He's more clever than given credit for, I think. Like Calzaghe would go pitty pat, pitty pat, pitty pat, flush hard connect out of nowhere once in a while.
There is no question or doubt for those who know boxing. Dirrell is head and shoulders a better fighter than Abraham. There is nothing that Abraham can do equal or better than Drirell. The only advantage Abraham has over Dirrelll is random power. Likewise, Froch is head and shoulders below both Dirrell and Ward, as is Kessler. Kessler has always been vastly overhyped for someone who has never fought anyone of real talent. The only fight that can be pointed at is his fight with Calfaggy, who himself is a fraud. Here's the new sheriff's in town; -Ward -Dirrell I think thet Green will do well in this bout. Too bad he isn't facing Abraham or Froch because I think he would KO either one or both. They set him up with Ward who will probably win.
