Pryor was just a genius.. I wish someone could come along now in a similar mould, he had everything..

Arguello was out of his weight at 140. Imagine a prime Tszyu against Arguello..

I would almost expect someone to get DQ'd in a Duran vs Pryor -- it'd be a ****ing bloodbath. I favor Duran on in-ring intelligence only.

Part of why Pryor was a bit underrated defensively is because he lived the old saying "the best defense is a good offense." In his case it was really true, because he was always right in his opponents face, always pressing right on him, and his opponent had almost no chance to get anything off that was solid. They were too busy defending themselves against that hailstorm of punches.

Pryor reached the level of great but he's surely one of the most overrated fighters ever to live.

    Good fight between 2 atg`s.

Id fancy a 20 yr old hearns vs a 17 yr old pryor by a wider margin, something to think about.

ps. I thought pryor/arguello 2 was every bit as good as their 1st bout if not better.

I fancy pryor vs tszyu aswell @ 140 but Id fancy chavez & whitaker vs pryor, both on points.

When you say he's one of the most overrated fighters to ever live, are you refering to his resume being overrated or his ability as a fighter?

Pryor and Arguello would have walked through Hatton. Tszyu in his prime would have been stopped by Pryor in about 7-8 and a fight with Arguello would be a toss up, but I favor Arguello by UD or late round stoppage.

I totally agree with you here. It's not Floyd's fault he was born in the era he was born in. However, there are a lot of PBF fans who just don't get it. I'm referring to the 20 and 30 somethings who don't really understand how good some of the old timers really were. Pryor was the total package; double tough, and double quick. Arguello hit him with **** that would have killed a mere mortal! Alexis at his best was a thing of boxing beauty; lazer guided jab, picture perfect right hand, and the ability to change the course of a fight with a single punch from either hand.

On another note; I'm not going to hack on Pryor, but the simple truth is, he beat an aging and ring weary version of "El flaco Explosivo!" Make Pryor and Alexis both 28 years old, and put them both at 135, and I think Alexis wins at least 3 out of 5. That's pure speculation of course, but it's my well considered opinion.

alexis is an all time favorite of mine, but i think he loses to tszyu at 140. pryor on the other hand would have walked tszyu down with his tremendous pressure.

pryor is my best jw ever. but i believe that hatton and tszyu would of given him a great fight. he was not as elusive as you said he was. he could get rather emotional in there and throw too many shots (see the cerventes and aa fights)

I believe tht he would of pushed leonard to the limit

arguello was on a whole different level than chico, he would have KO'ed chico in rounds 5-7 at 130.

Agreed. With all due respect to Corrales, the way Chico walks straight in he would have been a sitting duck for a sharpshooter with one punch KO power like Arguello. He would have punished Chico unless Chico stayed behind a jab and far away. It could have been a good four rounder though.
