Also i think Benn had tendency to appear more hurt than he actually was because he was lanky and flung himself into punches, compromising his balance, giving him the appearance of 'flailing' about. I've not seen any other Benn fights, did his punches have that sort of effect on most of his opponents? It seemed really clear he was stunning GM with every punch he landed, possibly suggesting GM punch resistance was already compromised, setting up his head injury.
You don't need to. Because I was replying to the fact that someone said he should have been counted out, simply not so, 20 seconds you get, and Benn was up and in the ring before the count of 10 anyway. So no, he shouldn't have been counted out. Whether or not he was lucky to get out the round, yeah if you want to say he was lucky, then yeah, anyone who gets a beating in the first round like that is lucky to get out the round, Benn just so happened to go on and beat the living **** out of McClellan from that round on.
You didn't watch the Benn McClellan fight and nobody said that the rabbit punching was THEE worst that I've seen.
How would you know exactly? The guy's in there taking flush shot after shot in the mush off Nigel Benn of all people, why would you blame rabbit punches and not the full blown right hands he was eating all night? Also how the **** would you prove something like that? hahahaha You thick ****. haha
Rabbit punching is illegal for a reason and can have serious consequences. Don't be a complete dick. Having said that, the type of brain injury that G-Man incurred was not they type of injury that makes rabbit punches risky. His injuries are far more likely from an accumulation of shots starting perhaps well before this fight even started. Rumors have it he was showing warning signs even before this fight. He was just one of the unlucky few.
:nut Get rid of the British/Yankee bias. Why don't you stop lying to the masses and go watch the fight.
The fight should have been over in the 1st lets also not forget how the ref kept shielding Benn from Gman's on slaugt ..And beat the living **** out of him from that round :huh really what fight were you watching:think
It was over-shadowed by GM's collapse but "Listen... they only b(r)ought (h)im over here to bash me up" is one of my favourite post fight quotes.
Rabbit punches? How about expanding your timeline a bit. Gym wars (Toney, sparring hard with Hearns as a teenager, sparring heavyweights, etc.) , voluntarily trading with Julian Jackson, and weight draining all played a bigger part in it. Ignoring the obvious symptoms that something wasn't right after Jackson I (the constant blinking and headaches) didn't help. It was only a matter of time before something bad happened, unfortunately. You can't go to war like that constantly, ignore defense, and expect to last long in this sport.
yanks just don't like the fact one of their hyped up p4p fighters got ko'd so now they have to find excuses, he lost deal with it winging septics. as someone said you get 20 for being knocked out the ring
