good. it is good to see fans still support a fighter even after a loss instead of many who just forget about them
Fandom means you like them, not that they're the best. A lot of people seem to only like certain fighters if they're the best. Perhaps we should call them fair-weather fans.
i liked Calvin Brock heaps even after he got beaten twice, hell i like Emmanuel Augustus and he has been beaten 30 odd times
Oscillating fans, maybe, or Max Kellerman. ...and I definitely co-sign on Emmanuel Augustus! Taking fights with maybe 30 seconds notice, effective clowning, that double-fisted punching, etc.; I love a loss from him more than a win by most anybody else.
atsch weren't talking hell **** about him after he quit against vitly? saying he was garbage and other sorts of ****:-(
hmm if you had read some of my other posts lil **** I said I may give em hell but I will always be a true fan..nice try but you fail
It's one thing if a fighter loses; **** - guys like Emanuel Augustus, Glen Johnson, and Humberto Soto rightfully have rabid fanbases. But guys who have NO redeeming qualities whatsoever (or at least whose downside far exceeds their up)? Guys like Ruiz, Rahman, and Peter? I just don't get sticking up for them. Sam is a stupid, ignorant savage who doesn't even have the drive to get up for an important fight. Okay, so he can punch kind of hard (and let's be honest - that's where his legitimate upside really ends). Is that really enough to make someone stick by his side through thick and thicker? Apparently it is, but I just don't ****ing get it. :?
I did a quick search and didn't find any posts by FourtyOunce even approaching comments like that; saw a few posts congratulating Vitaly, but no dogging on Samuel Peter - just what I see as an honest assessment. If you've got posts saying otherwise, then my apologies. When's the last time you saw another fanboy post an honest assessment of their boy?
he is talking some posts I made after the fight with vit where I did say some mean **** about peter,, but it was from anger and being drunk
Sam is far from stupid. He a good and smart man. I don't like the descisions he made, but **** it, its his life and he has a good one. I mean the guy came from the slums of Nigeria, Africa and started boxing and went out and was something. A WBC world Champion. You most likley grew up in a American family, all the opportunities and everything.... Sam had ****....this guy had to work hard for his money and actually made something of himself, while you probably pack groceries at your local supermarket. It was quite obvious he didn't give a **** in the Chambers fight, he was just cashing in one last decent pay day. See, you don't know the conditions in Eastern Europe and Africa, being your American, you guys have the opportunities and other options and programs to follow threw with. The guy is living good, living in Vegas, he has the American Dream basically. The guy came from the means streets of Nigeria, became world champion and made tons of money. I have no doubt if you were from Africa struggling to feed yourself, and when you go to America, you would eat just like he did. Sams only problem was is that he became Americanized and started to lose discipline.
