I think, and I could be wrong as I haven't seen the fight yet, that Povetkin's increasing dominance in the fight comes down to wearing Byrd down earlier with his body attack. Also all these people talking about Povetkin's build, wrong sport. And to those saying Povetkin doesn't have power he is only the third person to stop Byrd, the others were Ike and Wlad, and remember people Wlad didn't stop him the first time they fought. No Povetkin doesn't have Wlad's power, who does? And he doesn't have Ike's power, though the fight between Ike and Byrd was virtually dead even till Byrd got caught. I think Povetkin could have beat a prime Byrd, yes it would have been a more difficult fight but Byrd came in amazing shape for this fight and from the sounds of it was dominated to a large degree.

you havnt watched the vitali fight then:think
he was losing badly not getitng a beating (becuase he was so slick and agile) just was getting shunned to the outside where he couldnt use his speed and combos.

after a while he slips vitali's right hand again and again and then ducked so low that when vitali threw it he pulled his shoulder...

even though he was losing he will ALWAYS fight to the end if possible

Byrd may have made to the end of the 12th. But why take an unnecessary beating? His only chance to win was by KO - virtually a zero chance.

not terrible but he was hurt in the 9th and 10th by big shots and povetkin had stepped up the pace and planted his feet and was catching byrd with some ease.

not enough i thought to be pulled out and stopped, but when you have family as corner and you are in your late 30`s the ambition obvioulsy had died a bit.
