I didn't see the Byrd Pov fight, but from the sound of it, and from what I've seen of Povetkin before, I'd say he's probably going to improve his game after this fight, which was probably a big learning experience for him.

If you can outbox and TKO Byrd, you are not doing too bad.

But as I said, I think his apparent lack of KO power will cause some to have no fear of him and he won't be able to keep them off of him.

He has enough power to keep someone honest. There's a lot of room between feather fisted and KO artist. He has good power. You're doing a very shitty job of arguing your case.

Noone said he's feather fisted. Not that I read, anyway. I don't know why you have to make up extremes that were not said by anyone............. :blood They are saying, however, that he lacks KO power on the world level.

And that seems to be a fair and informed opinion, from what we've seen of his fights on the world level, thus far.

Sorry if my arguing my case is not worded to suit you.

I will quote your own post.

If you can't even keep someone off you, you are feather fisted. He can keep people off him. He has shown that in his first 14 fights, and also in his long amateur career.

I'm aware "they" (as in, "you") are saying that. If it's such a fair opinion, I'm sure you can explain WHY you think he lacks power? You haven't done that so far. All you did is repeat your silly "he lacks power" line.

So far you haven't even tried. And that includes the post I'm replying to right now.

I agree. How is hurting Byrd consistently, beating him up, winning every round, and stopping him equal to not having KO power. An example of someone who's power has proven to be poor at the world class level is Sam Peter, but what Povetkin showed today is that on any given night he can stop virtually anyone in the division.

I think he mistaken knockout power for one punch knockout power. Povetkin punches very hard you can see the impact his punches have on their opponents, they immediatelly cover and get busted up, he doesnt have one punch knockout power though like Wladimir Klitschko.

More feather fisted boxers lacking power for not knocking out Byrd:

Holyfield, Golota, David Tua, Vitali Klitschko, Ross Purity (knocked out Wlad), Jameel McCline (dropped Peter)

Valuev and Holyfield could not knock out Larry Donald either.

Byrd had no chance before the fight even started, and he robbed Golota.

I'm not surprised, he looks like a boy. I think Golota would **** him.

Steward helped him. That "hold" is his only way out of trouble, and for the most part it's been working.

Golota had Byrd touch the canvas on 2 or 3 occassions and the ref did not rule any of them as a knockdown. Byrd was hurt and his face was terribly swollen after the fight. Golota beat the hell out of Byrd.
