The Russian national anthem is a classic.

In Sweden we call it the hockey song, since the Soviet Union always claimed the gold during the world championships.

    Buffer introducing the fighters.

This is actually the best American fighter of the last few years (since Holyfield) against the new very good Russian fighter.

    9 or 11 ounce gloves.

9 are seen as puncher/cutter gloves...but for the speedy handed peeps you can throw much faster with less wind resistance.

11 are for safty reasons:tired but are usually a combo punching glove they have much more pillow in them, so you can go the whole distance without husting your hand or getting hurt yourself.

really it doesnt matter after a while...not that long ago wlad - austin and boom austin got boyd with a left hook...if they were lighter gloves woulds it really matter

He seems to ref a lot of these bigger fights in Germany for some reason, involving American fighters at least.

I think it refers to the glove size, dude. Gloves are universally weighted; 10 ounces for heavyweights I believe. But Povetkin's hands might have been too big for the smaller size.
