HBO accepting Quillin is a start, but I'm thinking HBO wants to tie up Alvarez to be exclusive on their network. With the Mayweather/Pacquiao eras winding down, Alvarez will be a cash cow for years to come.

props to Oscar if he is serious about this, but hopefully he knows what he's getting into, because you don't do business with Bob Arum

either that or he's still in rehab

I didn't know this. Got a link? Ins't Quillin signed up with Haymon though? If HBO did accept him then that means they want Quillin vs Martinez/Golovkin :bbb

so it all comes down to the Floyd Schaffer and Arum triangle as being the reason of the cold war

Might want to add Haymon into that too.

It looks like sooner or later Schaffer/Haymon will make their own Promotion company and take several GBP fighters and stay in Showtime. While GBP/TR and the minor promotions will be at HBO.

yup. it came from another cold war when Oscar tried to lure Pac with a suitcase full of $20 bills. that cold war has ended and the produced great cards such as cotto-mosley and pac-barrera2. It only lasted unti Mayweather came out of retirement.

Yeah a new cold war will probably be Schaffer/Haymon/Mayweather/Showtime vs DeLaHoya/Arum/HBO. The thing is if that happens where will the current GB fighters go?

Dont forget that Pac fought Barerra JMM Oscar Hatton all when they were GBP fighters.

Floy didnt want to fight. NOthing to do with promoters , just one of many made up reasons not to fight.
