I will miss the ITV4 show format

did they have any sort f show reel at the end of the programme?or make refrence to the fact that it was the last one ?

 

couldn't agree more. although it is great sky support boxing, theere are normally many other undercard bouts that hardcore fans want to see, other than the main event.

Props to ITV4 for good coverage.

Hopefull the bigwigs will see sense, and carry on with coverage

Yep, even cards with naff undercards were fun to watch due to ITV's coverage.

 

He's going to be one of the main things I'll miss, his Alan Partridge like behaviour was hilarious viewing at times. :yep

 

Thy are doing a best of next Sat at about 6 or 6.30 I am pretty sure they have another show in Dec but could be wrong.

I thought they had a show next month but last night Rosenthal said "This is the last Big Fight Live of the year", so I guess they won't be showing it.

I was watching Match of the Day so missed the end, was the ending like after their last Khan fight when he said something "And thats the last bell for The Big Fight Live, thanks very much for watching", which confirmed the end. of course they were back on air three months later when they picked up the Hennessy contract.

I suppose I'll miss the format but not totaly fussed, I do like the build up to the fights, nothing shows that better than the US shows. However with the undercards as shonk as they have been for the last 6 months, I've sat through some garbage. If it was Friday Fight Night, you'd have been straight in to the main event and then only the best of a bad undercard-and there were some shocking undercards on FFN last season.

It's nice to go straight in to the main event on FFN, no fannying about, but there are some cards-most notably Maloney's in Bolton last month where a Big Fight Live style would have been very welcome.

 

I find it hard to listen to anyone who says they are not "fussed" when yet more of our boxing coverage is set to leave our screen. So what if it doesn't go straight into the main event. It means we are getting to see fight we otherwise wouldn't see, and our sport is getting mainstream coverage it needs.
Shaky coverage or not, until someone was pepared to come along and "do it better" we should be thankful to the likes of ITV that they bothered.
For the record, i didn't think itv coverage was that bad, and love the partonising gabriel clarke.

 

Showing the undercared, to me, is absolutely essential. How else can you build fighters' profiles?

iTV have been guilty of supporting the Khan bandwagon in the past, but they put on decent fights, and gave it mainstream coverage. There was a healthy amount of domestic boxing, and a real respect for the sport. With Mcguigan, Rosenthal, Rawling and McKenzie you always get something worth watching, even when they speak bollocks.

I like watching the undercards - you get some thrilling fights, because you're not expecting them.

 

I will miss ITV 4 boxing, been some good fights shown. The format was pretty good too I enjoyed the build ups they really added a nice touch pre fight building boxers up, showing them at home, trainning etc.
