What I find funny is that because 140, 147 etc have been defined as the official weight, your fickle brains somewhat equate that to the fighters being comfortable at that weight and nothing less or nothing more.

Newsflash, official weights does not determine a fighters body composition. Pac for example, his best weight is probably something like 142-144, not 147 but not 140 either. Now if a LW were to go up to 142 to meet him, and he were to go down from 147, I imagine that the LW (unless a big one) would be at a bigger disadvantage as 142 would be the natural weight Pac's body would fall under.

Perhaps a fighter has to make 147 but his minimum should be 148 and ideal at 150. If he fought at a catchweight of 150 he would in fact be at his ideal weight, yet somehow you would say he's at disadvantage. If he fought at 147 its fine cos its not a catchweight, yet he's a walking corpse.

You gotta remember that even weights like 140, 154 are catchweights, I mean they have only been introduced recently in the history of boxing.

JMM looked the same way vs Floyd than he did vsBradley. Just that Floyd is much better. That is the most embarrassing loss I've seen in some time. Bums have done better vs Floyd.

oh it effected canelo so much more, because he was such a drained fighter anyway @154

Also bear in mind that Pac has started at about 105 so welterweight for him is like 10 divisions from where he started , floyds is only half that

    Pacs a damn midget

So at 146 you saying JMM is no match for Floyd but at that same weight KO6 Pacquiao? Maybe it has less to do with weight and more to do with skills?

How is it hating when facts are stated not opinions? Pac has the most catchweight fights for titles in the history of boxing. One could title him the greatest catchweight fighter of all time.

what are these catchweight title fights you speak of?

the only one is really 154 against Margo, where Pac was a super midget.

Sure he fought cotto at a catch but he has also won the WW at full weight class limit anyway

Floyd is walking with a linear title

    Hes the linear 152 champion.

sure he fought Canelo at a catch but he has also won the LMW at full weight class limit anyway......see how that works?

Pac fought Marg and Cotto at catch weights for the belt. I think that's it though right? Torrecampo?

Haha...right. Fighters think they are more capable than they are. If the weight wasnt an issue genius then why did Cotto IMMEDIATELY move to 154 after that fight... and why did Canelo intentionally miss weight in his next fight??? Actions speak louder than words and if you can't see it, you would be the stupid one.

Not what I said. I didnt even reference the jmm pac fights. What I said was that Juan bulked up poorly for the Floyd fight and it hurt his performance. He was going to lose regardless but he was fat in that fight. Marquez has bulked into the weight better now. Youre trying to make this a Floyd -Manny thing and it isn't.

Jesus... its not about who weighs more. Floyd (wisely) fought at his comfortable weight... Canelo fought at a weight that he likely hadnt been at in a while. Why do you think Canelo didn't make weight for Angulo? It's pretty obvious the weight in the Floyd fight bothered him.
