It's not unusual for Haye to do this. He talks a lot before the serious training begins but then he becomes completely dedicated. A lot of anti-Haye posters seemed to think it was a new thing that Haye has started to act differently but the fact is, he has done it several times in the past. Valuev, Macca, Ruiz, Harrison. It was all the same tactic. Talk a lot, make sure the fight gets hyped and then when the training starts, get down to business.

I really don't think there's anything to look into Haye's or Wlad's mind games. If anyone has acted differently, I'd say it's Wlad. He seems to be trying a bit too hard but that's probably just his personality.

I am interested to see the HBO Face Off though. Apparently Haye makes a mockery of Wlad, so it'll be interesting to see how Wlad reacts. If he laughs it off, he's fine. if he reacts seriously, I think Haye has gotten into his head.

I think this is the most likely scenario:

Haye planned to **** Wlad off as much as possible, knowing he stands a much better chance if Wlad's thrown out of his normal rhythm by really wanting to hurt him - this much we know to be true. The plan worked to an extent, but Haye probably peaked too early, given that the fight has taken so long to be put together (yes, Haye was the reason for a lot of the wait, but that's not the point I'm making).

The plan has now totally back-fired; Wlad is not full of bottled-up hatred or frustration - he's been in his element during the build-up. He hasn't been funny, but he's doing the right thing just trying to be; now it is Haye is frustrated and sick of it all, so he's the one who'll be coming into the ring in the more emotional state.

I think that this is what has happened. There is the possibility that Haye is trying to give this impression, in order to make Wlad think he has gained an advantage, but I don't think so - I think it's the first scenario.

I was thinking though, He was in his stable mate George Groves's recent fight, may he has realised how stupid you can look bad mouthing people and trash talking can work against you in terms of popularity. Which is the exact thing that happened to Groves's opponent James Degale. Maybe he's picked up on this, and decided to curb it a bit????

I think Haye has always been incredibly boring to be honest, at least at CW he did his talking in the ring for a few fights before moving up to the adult weight class. Now he's just extremely tedious and is going over the same dull act that he already did against the Giant circus freak. I find it as no surprise that Wlad has won over so many casual fans in England recently, especially the fairer sex. Love him or loathe him, you really have to hand it to Wlad, he's pure showbiz, pure Hollywood, a class act, a true credit to the sport.

Haye is absolutely terrified of Wladimir. Not only does he fear the pasting that is awaiting him,but now that Wlad is opening up and engaging more in the pre-fight mind games,Haye doesn't know how to react to him.Being intelligent, charismatic and as amusing a character as he is,Wlad is capable of showing David Haye up in public just by talking. And that's exactly why Haye doesn't want to be in the same presence as Wlad.
