I wish fighters at 160 would start demanding a fight with GGG

This is completely nonsense. Quillin turned down a fight when first offered. Murray turned down a fight. Geale turned down 2 fights. Martinez's promoter don't want him near GGG. Sturm refused to give GGG a title shot for years. Kirkland just turned down a chance at the title.

I remember when fighters used to clamor nonstop for a fight against a champ. When Golovkin is looking for an opponent, everyone runs and hides. Everyone from 160 down is refusing to fight and they're coming up with some pretty lame excuses.

At this rate, GGG will be forced to move to 168 at the end of the year just to get a fight.

When GGG moves to 168, the whole Middle weight division will sleep like babies.

Golovkin needs to stay at 160 like Marvin Hagler did. Golovkin should fight as many fights as is possible. Golovkin would come down to 154 and fight Void. Golovkin is looking forward to fighting the winner of Martinez/Cotto, which would be Martinez..................

This is why the WBA needs to step in and redefine the criteria for a "mandatory defense". Adama was actually acceptable as an IBO mando, but who will his WBA mando be? Murray has the interim belt so if he won't fight, he needs to be stripped. After that, an eliminator needs to be held between the next 2 in line. That's the only way to fix this, IMO.

there is another way, a way that will restore boxing's credibility and take away a fighter's power to pick and choose...but that way isn't going to happen

But why would they want to take the eliminator fight for a fight with the champion when they don't even want a shot at the champ? A shot they could get up front, because of lack of other contenders willing to step up to the plate. Can't force them to fight for the title.. Whole situation stinks.

This is how we know he is ducked hard btw. For a comparison: everyone around WW wants Mayweather, but NOT ONE of the top 10 or so MWs are chasing Golovkin. That speaks volumes.:yep

The other champions know how good Golovkin really is. Golovkin is really, really, really good champion................if he fights often, gets exposure, he will finally get a big fight. I think HBO will put up the money..............

You guys don't take all of the reasons into consideration though..

kirklands a 154lb'er not a 160... and wheres the proof he turned down a fight?
geale had decent reasons if he's telling the truth, surely golovkins team could change dates??
Murray never turned down a fight, he couldn't fight in the us because of legal issues..
quillins on a different network, where would they fight showtime or hbo? and again wheres the proof he turned down any fight?

You guys gotta understand its all about the $.. it wasn't back in the day because only the big champs brought the $.. why would martinez take a huge paycut to take on golovkin? When he can take on an established champ in cotto for big $.. heck if he fought golov and beat him it'd just be 'well he was jst hype'.. it's about timing..

All these 160 guys wont fight so he calls out a 147lb'er.. it makes no sense. Nobodys duckin him, if the moneys right guys will fight him. Heck martinez is afraid but adama isn't..? cmon man

How can you even list some of those guys when they were asked to step up to the plate and they ran like little girls?

Hopkins shouldn't even be on that list, he's at 175. And half of those names are at 168.

There appears to be a good chance that Golovkin will get a fight with the winner of Martinez/Cotto.................Martinez will knock Cotto out. Martinez has said he would come down to 154 to fight Void, so would Golovkin, although I don't know how Golovkin can come down that far, but Golovkin knows his own body...............he is a small middleweight.................

the difference is that Floyd offers what Oscar did - a once in a lifetime payday - while golovkin is a high risk fighter who offers notoriety but very little $$$ reward
