I wish Liston lived longer

Prior to the 1990s marital **** was legal in some states. That's way worse than robbing liquor stores in my book. We are talking about a society with different morals than today.

Anything new? All of this stuff about Liston has been hashed and rehashed ad nauseam. If anyone has something new to offer, I'd love to read it. Yes, he was an interesting character. But are we now going to concoct a sociology curriculum around him? Sheesh!

We are all damned to live the life we are given Ney - by all accounts though he was an unlawful man to be labeled a degenerate by modern societies standards which I agree with. I find it increasingly funny the vast majority of the amateur poets here and elsewhere who fawn over him would be not only too afraid to talk with Liston but they would not even enjoy his company in the slightest.
I wish this “Heart of Gold rouge” narrative would’ve been left in the bin beside the rest of there fan fiction. But with such men at times to know all might be to forgive all - he’s no friend of mine what do I know?

What exactly did Liston that makes him so bad?
Drugs? Alcohol? ... ii suspect at least 50% ATG are guilty on that account.
Was he a thug? ties to the Mob? Lots of ATG also qualify.
Did he steal some kid's candybag?

 

Maybe someone has a soft spot for the presumed to be racist cops he beat up? Habitual drunk driving when it was almost socially acceptable? Imaginary fixed fight against Ali? I don't get it either.

 

I'm sure Sonny wished he did as well.
