I have criticized this guy a lot in the past (mostly for the robbery of Abril...which was not his fault but still), but how can you be a boxing fan and not love him, if he had his way every single fight would be FOTY Goes toe to toe for a full 3 minutes, gets hit with some monsterous shots, and walks back to his corner smiling He loves being in the fights that we want to watch :bbb:bbb
His style works for him, but doesn't suit everybody. Definitely fun to watch if you're a fan of up close fighting.
He's already showing signs of being punch drunk in his recent interviews. He should really tone it down a notch. It could end up bad..
I enjoy his fights but I really would hate a bunch of rock em sock em guys who are scared to fight boxers.
Totally disagree, he is fan to watch but b- level fighter very little skill and isnt even dangerous for best fighters, what we need is JMM in every division great technical fighter facing everyone!!!
I love the guy but I agree he's heading for brain trouble when he retires. I think that he's better at rolling with shots than he's given credit for. Instead, I think its the insane sparring schedule he keeps that will land him in the brain trauma ward. Apparently the guy routinelly spars fifteen rounds a day even when he's not training. You can't do that, getting hit by guys like Lucas Mattysee, Mikey Garcia, and Marcos Maidana and get away without slurring your speech, unless you're some kind of defensive super genius, which Rios definitely isn't.
Rios who? Okay he's just an average come forward fighter. Like what Angel Garcia said if he ever wants to fight Danny Garcia he needs to take anti-doping test because of the Mexican meat Rios eats even though he's from Oxnard. Mexican meat is contaminated with steroids, or so they say to hide their steroid use.
It's pathetic that Rios talks **** about Bradley and Broner, because he knows casuals are to stupid to realize they would humiliate him
he's young and been hit with monster punches, in due time it will all accumulate.. but i hope he doesn't suffer the same fate with the guy he mocked few years ago.. ROACH.. he's fun to watch inside the ring, all heart and fearless..
he is an exciting fighter, but a good boxer would beat him in any divisions. And another style which would beat him is a big puncher. A fighter like the 1980s lightweight Edwin Rosario would have knocked out Rios in one or two rounds just on his power. Rios would give him too many opportunities. But I do love Rios style and the Alvarado fight is going to be exciting, although Alvarado should have had a tuneup. Putting him right back against Rios just means he will be stopped earlier than the last fight.
He's constantly all in, you've got to appreciate him win/lose/draw, like Virgill Hunter said, you don't want to miss a Bam Bam fight.
Brandon's grown on me over the past year or two. Despised him at first, but I've come to respect his attitude. May come across as a dick sometimes, but he's honest about it. Wears his heart on his sleeve. He also gets criminally underrated (since the Abril fight, anyway). Dude was the underdog my many on here going into the first Alvarado fight. He then goes in and destroys him in an awesome scrap, and doesn't get credit for it. If he was with GBP, he'd be getting mad props. :deal Oh, and I'd love for him to fight Broner. He'd give him hell.
