I wonder how many years it will take until the average person can fight like Israel Adesanya

    The obvious answer is never.

The average person can not even do a single push up. The average person will quit after a few weeks of hard training. The average person is not strong willed enough to stay disciplined, stick to a diet etc.

Only the genetically elite, and those who are extremely self-driven, hard working and have a crazy obsession can reach those levels of success

With the small amount of knowledge gained by the public by merely just watching any combat sports, how long would it take that knowledge to allow the average person to be as skilled as Izzy?

Yeah, that's incredibly dumb. Israel Adesanya is a special talent and there will never be a time when even an average fighter will be able to fight like him, yet alone some untrained slob off the street, lol. The only mma fighter who even somewhat resembles his style is Anderson Silva, and they're still very different.

It reminds me how during GSP's rise people were claiming that this was going to be prototype for the future mixed-martial artist and that soon the average fighter would be that skilled and well rounded. Rather than realizing how rare it is to come across a fighter as talented, skilled and disciplined as GSP.

A boxer from early 1900s would still wreck 95% of the average population today.

I think Izzy is incredibly over rated

He's in a very weak division but had 3 really good opoonents. Here's how they went....

Rob - Fought the most idiotic gameplan possible. Literally ran at a counter puncher with his chin in the air. Also he's heavily damaged post Romero. Ten rounds with that freak would wreck anybody

Costa - Had he fought like all his other fights, he has a great chance. He didn't. The reason? He got off the damn drugs. Drugs made him into a fearless tank. Without them he looked like a deer in headlights. A little boy without confidence. Izzy meanwhile suddenly grew a gyno nipple (notice he went from a coward fear based fighter into an ultra confident fighter. Drugs are a hell of a drug

Romero - Romero arguably beat him. He hit Izzy once, after that Izzy was terrified and at times literally sprinted away. Izzy fought like an absolute coward, and had Romero not fought so lazily in the 5th, he would have beaten him. Romero lost that as much as the cowardly runner won it

Had Izzy had a prime Weidman, Rockhold, Whittaker, Souza and Romero to contend with he'd be outside the top 5

A prime Anderson would've brutally starched him inside a round

He's lucky his division his **** and his best fighters all had massive * next to them

A number of fighters lasted longer than a round with Anderson and were nowhere near Izzy`s level, did Silva kick harder than Izzy, did you see the welts on Costa`s lead leg?

Non sense. Izzy has more experience than all those guys. They only stand a wrestlers chance of taking him down and gnp. But his sprawl game is on point, I don't see any opponent that Anderson faced that Izzy would not have demolished. Izzy is an outlier of mma. He has logged in his 10k hours plus 100s of rounds in combat sports, none of those guys can even catchup to his experience.
