I mean when Randy humiliates him and takes him down and grounds and pounds him for a bit then submits him. What will Toney say after this? Maybe he will finally get his long overdue wake up call to retire?

Nah.....he'll fight on because Randy won't be humiliating James. Randy along with many others are gonna be surprised at just how capable a motivated James can be. Even out of his element with fighting in MMA. Now.....he'll most likely take an "L" against Randy who is an all time great in MMA. But he'll get his respect and will have his moments.

I really think Toney is out of his league here. No disrespect, he is a great boxer but this sport is totally different. If they were strictly boxing Toney would win, but when you include the ground work, elbows and knees this is disaster. Respect to both.

Wow, that's generous. A golden glove boxer would ko Couter when if it was only hands. An all time great like Toney would absolutely humiliate him, even past his prime. Hell. I'll bet you old Larry Holmes, even now, could beat the living **** out of Brock Lessner in a boxing match. The man (Lessner) has no idea how to defend himself on his feet. :D

He's not out of his league, he's out of his element. It's important to know what words mean. As an athlete, Toney is twenty times the fighter Couter has ever been. But Randy can and should win under MMA rules.

i give toney very little chance of catching couture coming in for the takedown. a prime RJJ, with his athletecism, would kill any 185 pounder out there. probably most 205's as well.

toney should be a -300 underdog.

can anyone imagine how quicky penn would get his ass kicked by PBF in an open street fight with no cage to limit mobility? the minuite BJ shoots in, he eats an uppercut and gets KO'd or PBF simply steps out of the way. after about three attempts of this, BJ quickly realizes he has no chance.

Why would he retire? Also to lose his first UFC fight against a legend is no excuse to retire. He might have to retire from boxing but the UFC is something different and if he can master the ground game he could be very good. I could see him becoming a champion, if hes in the right weight class (he wont be a champion going against Brock).

JT aint retiring anytime soon. If hes taken down in UFC hell say dude was wrestling and that aint fightin.

He wont retire til hes finally knocked out while boxing and probably would retire after a goodbye match OR just stop fighting cuz theres no $.

Real talk.....I think James taking this path only shows you that he's a "FIGHTER" more than just a boxer. With that said he's still got a LOOOOOOONG way to go to consider himself a MMA fighter...but that doesn't mean his level of boxing won't allow him to do well in MMA depending on whom he faces. Randy is a big challenge and I respect James for taking that challenge his very first fight.

Thats why Toneys my boy. Dude just likes to scrap. Whatever the rules as Kimbo used to say "lets do this!". **** all the excuses its a fight. And Toney gets respect but he put his balls on the line and came to Couture's neck of the woods. Insane or not il tip my hat to him because thats a FIGHTER.

I think people are making a huge mistake in counting Toney out in this fight. If Toney lands a punch, it will be curtains for Couture.

If Toney wins then I think that is how he should retire but I doubt he will.
