Not saying to beat him but at least be competitive, give Floyd some trouble like Mosley, ODLH or Cotto did.

    Alexander
    Bradley
    Khan
    Garcia
    Broner
    Pacquiao
    Lara @ 152 / 154
    Trout @ 152 / 154
    Golovkin @ 154 / 160
Martinez if he still has something left in his tank. @154 / 160

    :think

IMO Cotto had a pretty good game plan and he put some effective pressure on Floyd.

Well now that Mayweather has belts @ 154. No more catchweights.

I think floyds built his legacy fighting at 154 he needs to go down to his natural weight division of 147 where he is significantly outweighed by his opponent... Atleast at 147 he can make fights alot more appealing to the casual fans by goin for the knockout

Looking at that list and excluding GGG because I doubt Floyd will ever go to 160, I'd say it's still Pacquaio.

(the following is copied and pasted from a similar thread)

Pacquaio can match Mayweather in terms of speed (fast hands and fast feet, if not as good footwork as Mayweather) and stamina, which is I think overlooked sometimes as being very important vs. Mayweather. Cotto, De La Hoya and Alvarez lost partially because of stamina issues imo in that they couldn't keep up the pace and Alvarez looked to be pacing himself to me (Mayweather has a lot to do with this too obviously).

Mayweather is probably the best counter puncher around but I think his greatest stylistic advantage is against other counter punchers/non-aggressive guys (e.g. Marquez, Alvarez) because he is so fast and smart nobody can really outbox or out counter him. Judah showed speed can give him problems and the likes of Castillo, de la Hoya, Hatton and Cotto had varying degrees of success when keeping a high-tempo and pressuring, which is what Pacquaio is capable of doing for 12 rounds with speed and decent power also. Mayweather is a master of slowing the pace: he makes people think too much in the ring and makes them hesitant. Manny Steward made that point vs de la Hoya: that de la Hoya was having success when he just threw punches and didn't overthink because you aren't going to out think or out smart Mayweather.

This post got a bit long winded but basically I think Mayweather has a style advantage over Pacquaio who is suspect to counter punchers but I think Pacquaio brings a lot to the table that could trouble Mayweather too (hand speed and unorthodox angles, stamina and intensity, good chin if it is still ok after JMM4). Plus the simple fact that Pacquaio would be the just the best guy Mayweather has faced in that he is a sure-fire ATG. It's hard to see anybody beating Mayweather but Pacquaio probably still has the best chance.

Khan has a weak chin, weak ring IQ and average power.
Garcia is a good all-rounder but isn't aggressive as such and is quite slow so I think he would get picked off all night. He has the chin and power but don't think he has the style
Broner is too young still to really know, maybe in a few years time but right now I think Mayweather beats him easy.
Alexander could be a harder one to predict but I don't think he has much to trouble Mayweather with only to make it look like a stinker of a fight.
Lara is an interesting one, I don't really know a huge amount about him but he would probably be a test for Mayweather. Trout the same

Nobody gives Matthysse a chance he just had a razor close fight with Garcia with one eye

  7. Golovkin, Manny, Bradley, Provodnikov, Lomachenko would kick his ass.

imo pac vs money is a 50/50 fight.
no one else at junior middle or welter can give him a fight.
he should not fight ggg, because he would get koed but a fight against maravila would be good and very winnable for floyd (martinez got slower, very injury prone, old and rusty and a natural 154 pounder who would have to drain himself.

imo floyd should take the martinez fight!

    agree:good

indeed 140 - 147 divs are stacked with some good names / fighters with high profiles.

IF Pacquiao T/K.Os or wins in big manner the fight against Rios and then fights and beats convincingly the winner of JMM - Bradley fight, then Floyd v Pac fight is on IMO. :good

Lara and Trout could be some interesting matches for Floyd but none of these 2 guys don't have a high profile / aren't marketable. :-(

Amir Khan would be my number 1 pick out of all the boxers out there. Whether he ended up getting knocked out by Floyd or not whilst the fight was in action i think he's probably the only boxer who has the neccessay hand and footspeed to compete with Floyd and would give him fits.

Still think Pac would have the hand/foot speed and power to beat Mayweather but dependd if he's fully recovered from his KO loss.

Very impressed with Danny Garcia last night, he deserves a Mayweather fight but not sure if he has the speed/footwork to trouble Floyd.

the fight with Garcia will be a good PPV fight and make the most $ sense but it won't be competitive. No doubt, Garcia will be next in the line for Floyd.

I am a Floyd fan all the way but Garcia looked good.
He took some hard shots,Harder than Floyd can hit.
He landed some hard shots too.
May 5th If Garcia can get that fight, maybe he can do it.
Khan is a joke, Garcia is got to be the next?
