I would like to see this fight at 185. I mean alves is a big welterweight and he is big enough to fight at 185 and lawler is not a big middleweight. He used to fight at 170. Both guys are built and i like this match up. Hope it can happen one day.
It would be an interesting fight, some storyline aspect with Hughes vs Alves. I think Lawler would have to be a little more aggresive than he was this week; he wouldn't have to worry about the takedown nearly as much as against Babalu. Alves does have short arms, so that could be a problem, but he might just kick the **** out of Lawler like Manhoef did before he got knocked cold. It wouldn't be nearly as one sided in terms of kicks as the Manhoef fight because Lawler was just giving up the legs to protect his head at all costs, something he wouldn't need to do against Thiago, who isn't the puncher Manhoef is.
