Froch is getting old, and he should go for the big fights which means Kessler. If you make a boxingevent where Dirrell is involved you take a risk. He aint reliable, and he has shown it more then once. Kessler, on the other hand, is. A rematch with Ward seems pointless. Ward would UD Froch once more, in another of his trademark chessgames of fights.
Palle and Saurland both have been pretty good at doing the 'unexpected' when it comes to matchmaking with Kessler and Mikkel is injury prone.
It would be challenging, but I think it's a smart fight for Froch to take next if Dirrell is up for it, (assuming he doesn't get that fight with Kessler). Dirrell has been inactive for quite some time, and Froch just got a great win over a southpaw counterpuncher with dangerous power. Obviously Froch can't get complacent in there, but Dirrell is not a very active fighter, and it's unlikely that Froch will get busted up real bad regardless of whether he wins or loses. So, while his title will be at stake, he's learned to cut off the ring much better, and he'll be able to call the shots. Dirrell has nothing to lose either because he's dealt with Froch before, in his mind, he feels he beat Froch, and this fight will immediately put him back in the spotlight if he wins.
Saurland is corrupt through and through. Palle sold his soul to the Devil when he signed up for them. You can see it in the haunted glance in his eyes.
:rofl:rofl what Dirrell are you talking about? The one you have just created in your head? Dirrell has not shown us he is more mature or has got his head sorted. He was weak against Froch and showed weakness during & after the fight with AA. Yeah we know Froch can be dirty, just like Ward, Bradley, Hopkins and many others. FYI Dirrell is "dirty" too, in a different way, he was ducking below the belt against Froch and even got a point deducted for it. He even turned his back on Froch when Froch start closing in on him. Those are "dirty" tactics too in their own way.
I would like to see Froch get a soft touch fight at home and see it sell well. If anyone has earned it he has. They can pack the under card and I'll tune in with my popcorn. As for serious business My first choice is a Kessler rematch and second Pavlik.
Damn!! 90% of the replies come from Froch fanboys, Dirrell haters and guys with a Brit in their avatars (Brits) No objectivity here. so basically y'all opinions don't mean much
Dirrell became a different fighter after the point deduction. I think that woke him up. It was evident in the Abraham fight that he knew he had to fight differently. I think after the last couple rounds against Froch he KNEW he had more. Obviously only time will tell but I'm fairly confident he will be a major force at 168. Jack Loew said before the tourney started that people shouldn't be overlooking Dirrell. He was the only one that seemed to be giving him any chance against the top dogs at that point.
Froch wants a rematch with Dirrell about as much as he wants one with Ward. He knows he got a hometown gift against Dirrell. If they fight anywhere out side of mother england Dirrell will be walking away with Carl's belts.
No objectivity???? why an earth does Dirrell deserve a rematch, he made the first match an absolutely awful spectacle with his spoiling and slipping. Froch is riding the crest of a wave right now, he does not need that kind of awkward quite frankly horrible potential matchup. Hed make 10x more money fighting *gasp* more established fighters in more exciting fights that would *gasp* mean more on his already packed resume. If Dirrell wants a rematch he damn well better make sure he gets in line i.e. mandatory, because he has no name value or pulling power, just the ability to ruin a fight.
i don't give a f*k about deserving and being exciting. Im the kind of boxing fan who likes to know from top to bottom who are the best in each division. There is no reason why dirrell can't make a close tough fight vs froch again. we already have seen what kessler can do but dirrell was putting the perfect fight against abraham before that cheap shot so he is the wildcard at 168. maybe we should see kessler vs dirrell but if you are a real champ, you should go out there and prove that you are better than the guys you beat controversially with home judges and not act like the guy doesn't exist
