If Ward had won a fight, I would be all praise.

When Kessler was not buzzed and concussed by headbuts the fight was close and showed a lot of promise. But any time Kessler started getting the upper hand he got concussioned with brutal headbuts. Ward did this not only by moving the head, but by running his head full force into Kessler. Anyone normal should have a checkup at a hoispital for each of those headbuts. Instead of going for a hospital check up Kessler had to fight a world title fight.

I agree- that Ward's talent is there as expected, but this fight did not end right. It gives Ward no glory having to headbut his way to a belt. Ward is still as good as I expected, but he is a dirty boxer and has shown he is willing to do ANYTHING to win.

No respect for Ward in this. None.

But I expect Ward to hopefully one day put the dirty tactics to a side and try to take on top opposition with pure boxing. Holding and headbutting and boxing while the opponent is concussed is not really the way boxing ought to be.

I'd disagree and would like to congratulate Ward on his victory, I think he was a good guy right through the buildup to this fight and also in victory.

I don't think the headbutts were a deciding factor. They made things worse for Kessler, a lot worse, but Ward had already found the way to beat Kessler. He was already doing his thing and Kessler wasn't coming up with answers.

So congratulations to him, I think he'll win the tournament as he's only going to get stronger now.

yeah right man, you were in the round by round giving ward ZERO credit....
you truly know nothing about boxing if you think ward is a dirty fighter. butts happen, its part of the game...but how do you explain the blistering he got all the rest of the fight? kessler is as great as you guys regard him as, you have to suck it up and overcome adversity...not cry and feel robbed.... "wahhh he held me, he bullied me, he hit me" come on kessler, your a champion boxer and ward didnt fall down like all these other bums you fought and make excuse...you sound like tyson after the holyfield ass kicking

You scored the first round a draw, a round in which Ward outclassed Kessler pillar to post.

In fact, Ward went on to outland, outhustle, outjab, and hurt Kessler before the headbutt.

It's obvious you never intended to give Ward any respect. Mikkel Kessler was clueless in there, and the better man won. Accept it instead of whining.

the fight was never close, it was a complete shutout, most gave Kessler round 6 because Ward got a little wild, I still gave that round to Ward. Kessler simply didn't have anything for Andre Ward. Kessler was solved, he was done. Now the butts just added, unintentionally, insult to injury...or injury to insult. Kessler deserves a lot of respect for fighting through, but him talking down on Andre after the fight was completely unwarranted. The 2 butts were completely unintentional

I think round 5 was better for Kessler than round 6. Kessler didn't make Ward pay for that wildness, similar to how he missed a lot of openings against Calzaghe. Except his accuracy and sharpness was a lot worse overall so he didn't land much of anything throughout the fight.

    Already found a way to....

How can you make that conclusion mate?

Kessler got the first brutal concussive headbut early in round 2.

and even Perdomo won a clearer round 1 against Kessler than Ward did!!! Kessler always starts kind of slow, but since the concussion in round 2 we never got to see them on a plain playing field again.

and even so - Ward only won by a mere TWO rounds - with Kessler fighting concussioned (while still getting headbutted just to keep him buzzing and partially blind).

Ward outclassed Kessler. But if the fight were in England they probably would've given the fight to the white guy.
