I would much rather have 10 Angulo's than runners like Mayweather

Boxing is about excitement. Look how excited we are about the Kessler v. Froch fight, or Angulo's aggresion, and even Adamek v. Arreola, why because for the most part (with exception Adamek running at times but was aggressive) those fighters gave the public's money's worth. I know boxing is the sweet science, but the sweet science will not pay the bills. We need all action fighters like Angulo, Arreola, Vasquez/Marquez, Kirkland, Manny, not a bunch of runners like Love Child, Cintron (against Angulo), Mayweater (who talks a big game but runs like a ***** if he is so fast get in there and trade they can't hit what they can't see right), that ***** Dirrell (who ran like crazy from Abraham).

I ****en despise MMA, but I liked what Dana White said about Anderson Silva (i think) about him running around and not fighting. Those fighters that run make me sick.

Great example of a action fighter is the South Korean Ji Hoon Kim who no one in the states would give a **** about, but because he was all action on ESPN with his knockout win I can't wait to see him again.

Is it just the Mexican in me that I want to see action fighters or the American consumer that pays for Showtime only to see the Super 6 turn into a slugfest like Froch/Kessler. If I wanted only drama I would go and watch golf, but I want my boxer's to look like they gave it their all guts and glory.

AM I WRONG OR AM I RIGHT?

If you had a family member who was a boxer would you want him to look like he gave it his all after every fight? Or would you want him to hit without getting hit? Surprising to hear you say you despise mma. they have all the brawling and giving it their all and looking like it when its over.

Nothing wrong with being defensive, Floyd is definitely overly defensive though. That's gonna bite him in the ass against the right opponent.

That's the good thing about boxing. Different styles for different people. And fans get to choose which fighters they like based on those styles. And they can root for them til their blue in the face.

Now, when someone with a style that bores you happens to win against your guy with the "exciting" style, you just have to roll with the punches. (No pun intended.)

Boxers are bound to get hit. My son is still pretty young, but I want him to box. I want him to go in there and fight his heart out. People talk **** about Victor Ortiz when he "quit" against Maidana, but I didn't see it that way. You live to fight another day. Both of those fighters are guts and glory. But you also have to be smart, if my son is getting his ass kicked like Victor was then hey you don't always have to go out on your shield. Life is full of its ups and downs boxing is no different. I mean there is a reason there is a thing called fight of the year right, people love the excitement.

I do despise MMA, I am not into the kicking and ****en wrestling on the ground for 5 mintues, no thanks.

it all depends on what you call excitement...personally I find Floyds style exciting. But thats just me... I love the sweet science. Then again guts and glory is good too...

I have never been able to fathom that people see Floyd as boring. That accusation only came after the baldomere fight (which was actually a bit boring) but aside from that Floyd has so totally dominated everyone (aside catillo 1 and osca) that I can't see him as boring...

I mean Hatton was an awesome win...

anyways just a personal preference I guess

When most people talk of a truly "great" fight they are usually talking about a brutal slugfest with many changes in momentum and many savage exchanges. They're not usually thinking about two defensive slicksters turning out a boring, cautious "chess match".

However, seeing a supremely skilled counterpunching slickster use his skillz to defuse, dominate, and dismantle a physcially imposing ultra aggressive brawler in an exciting fight is truly a thing of beauty.

I ****ing HATE the "runner" label some fans insist on using. What Adamek did last night, what Sergio Martinez does, what PBF does, that is called boxing! And whether you like it or you don't like it, a 20 X 20 ring is 400 square feet and it is legal to use all 400 feet of that mother****er!!

this, end thread. people use the "runner" label when their favorite fighter gets schooled by a superior boxer. its merely out of frustration

I appreciate all styles of boxing, but I must say I love brawlers like angulo, margarito, JCC, kirkland, pavlik, etc... they love to fight, I admire that

Just create a new sport where people bash each others heads in with special bats. Think of the blood, carnage, and excitement.
