Than Hatton v De la hoya
I think oscar is ruining his legacy in boxing by taking on ONE LAST FIGHT every couple of years.
What will it prove if oscar beats pac? That he can beat a smaller guy?
So what! Oscar should concentrate solely on promotion now and let his great fights speak for themselves of how good he was at one time.
He risks ruining his reputation as a great fighter if he keeps taking mikey mouse fights. (I think pac loses the fight by stoppage by the bigger man)
Oscar is thinking purely about money now and how much he can make by beating up smaller guys, Hatton should really start thinking whether he really needs to fight oscar, is it purely a money decision or does he believe it is a step up that will give him another chance in the higher division to make his mark.
IF hatton really wants a big fight and fancies another go at 147 why not set up a fight with cotto? Maybe thats also a risk but i feel its a better fight than de la hoya and be far more entertaining, it would be a fight where both guys come to fight, none of this holding and surviving like malignaggi did.
I think it would be a tremendous fight and one that im sure both sides of the pond would love to see.
Forget about oscar ! Take on cotto

But will being tied to Golden boy ensure oscar a shot at Hatton????

oscar equals bigger money than any other fighter in the world which is why everyone wants to fight him.

as for oscar legacy, just signing to fight pacquiao put a huge dent in it,regardless of how it ends.

Cotto's too big for Hatton, I think Hatton needs to stay at 140.

I agree oscar equals bigger money theres no doubt about that.
And probably at the end of the day the dollars are whats on hattons mind right now with him coming to the end of his career, but oscar is not a good opponent for hatton, too big, strong and experienced.

Cotto vs. Hatton at MSG Puerto Rican Day weekend would be insane. Imagine the atmosphere the crazy Brits and wild Puerto Ricans would create.

I agree. This fight should have happened while Cotto was at 140 but for some reason I don't even think it was even talked about. Cotto-hatton would be huge here or in the UK.

Hatton vs. Pac would be the best fight of '09 by far.
    Hope it happens.

If you want cotto to die of hunger and never see him fight again then you are not crazy.

Who knows, but i would love the chance to find out
would be a great fight toe to toe, none of this grabbing on for dear life like malignaggi did, or hopkins did against calzaghe etc
Hatton and Cotto will come to have a war.
    Its a great match up!
But would only happen at 147 I think, I cant see cotto starving to make 140 again.

I would want to see this fight more then DLH Hatton...but it would mean the end of Hatton. Does that make me a bad person?
