First of all, you don't have to be better than Floyd to beat him. Every style has a counter style that gives it problems. Norton and Frazier were not better boxers than Ali, yet they beat him. Floyd has simply fought (somewhat dangerous) fighters that he matches up well against. Manny has most of the attributes to cause Floyd a world of problems. Look at the DNA of the last few fighters he has faced. Pretty much come forward fighters with no movement that don't throw a lot of punches. What Manny brings that is different is: Endurance Lateral Movement Volume punching (and an attribute of a volume puncher is that unlike a Canelo or Mosley, they don't get frustrated when they don't land the big shot and give up on their gameplan) Not saying he'd beat him, but I think it would be a highly contested match. One fighter who had limited boxing ability that would have given Floyd REAL problems based on those attributes was Paul Williams. You can't outbox Floyd and probably can't be faster than him... but you can outwork him and eliminate some of his incredible accuracy with some movement.
Agree to disagree. I've stated numerous times my breakdown but I will just keep it simple here: If they fight, Pacquiao will get beat down, badly. Mayweather's fundamentally sound style, and versatile ability will be nothing like Pacquiao has ever seen. Floyd's style and ability to adjust is Manny Kryptonite, seriously. Floyd plays Chess, Manny plays Checkers. Not to mention, Mayweather will be the bigger man, and have the longer reach. (JMM and Pac are the same size, watch how easily Floyd muscled Marquez around the ring. Look at how much difficulty Marquez had reaching Floyd as well as he leaned back.) Pacquiao has no inside game what-so-ever either. He needs space to punch. He'll get picked a part from the outside by the superior boxer, and beat up on the inside by the bigger/stronger man, and again, the superior boxer. I don't see Pacquiao seeing the final bell, and I would be surprised if Roach didn't throw in the towel after seeing the beating Manny would be getting. This is also why Bob Arum will never let it happen. I only see it as a "cash out" move by Arum when he thinks Manny is finished. Get one last paycheck out of him.
even on the downslide, Pac still has a better chance of beating Floyd than Khan, Alexander, Garcia or any of the other guys from 140 to 154, but that chance is no more than 10-15 % shame Floyd doesnt' believe in himself, otherwise the fight would of happened years ago
at Victor... True Floyd brings something Manny hasn't seen, but the same is true for Floyd too (lately). He has fought stationary zombies and Marquez was no different. He thought he was going to counter and outbox someone who does it better. Bad gameplan. Floyd has never been frustrated because his opponents literally just stand there. IMO you are seriously underestimating the challenge Manny's movement would have on Floyd's accuracy. People forget how he made Timmy roll both his ankles in that fight.
This. Pac is shot but his chances are still better than others in that division. Who can do better than Pac vs Floyd? Khan? Alexander? Broner? Garcia? Bradley? Highly unlikely
Manny can't even get past JMM. Floyd would clown him terribly. A short guy that falls-in with his hands down gets worked over by Mayweather.:hi: Manny rejected a 5050 split and a 14 day cutoff because he didn't believe in himself.
manny and his t rex arms couldnt handle marquez who isnt as good as floyd and also has T rex arms. just no. can we stop this already?
It seems like most of the alts create messages about Manny or diss on Floyd. Is this site admin'd by *******s or something?
No, it's actually run by *****s. This site has the biggest concentration of *****s :rofl I poke fun at the *****s getting all riled up with anger and I'm laughing in the inside. It's sad how they behave but hilarious to watch.
Some of the other neames are missing key elements to give Floyd trouble: Bradley. He has the cardio, speed and tenacity, but lacks ANY power and swings (paws) wildly. Devon Alexander. quality technician, good mevement and fast hands, but Timmy was able to frustrate him and I don't think he'd handle the large difference in % of punches landed. Khan. Fast, good jab, good boxer but suffers Zab Judah syndrome. Danny Garcia... same result as Canelo or Guerrero. He wins a couple rounds, but meh Broner... LOL. Malinaggi exposed him badly. He will be lucky to get by Maidana because he stays in the pocket too long and his D isn't that good.
Quit comparing the marquez loss to fighting Floyd. We all know Floyd don't have the power to stop Manny. While I've always said Floyd will dominate manny i do believe he poses the greatest risk to Floyd and would love to see the fight still. Floyd is scared shitless of him though, even after the loss.
if Pac were a righty this would be such a mismatch but I wont discount any Southpaw whether its Pac, Lara, Trout, or Sergio
