I would still give Manny a decent shot against Floyd

There was nothing racist about that post you wet p*ssy. If your ****** ass didn't run around calling people "*****s' when its obvious you and that ***** shadow are in the closet for Floyd, you queers wouldn't get your assholes torn on a daily basis. its ironic that someone who claims not to like Mayweather, talks about him 24/7. that makes you worse than these so called *****s. hate is a ***** emotion, & it fits you perfectly. if you weren't on the rag, you wouldn't make up **** that isn't there.

This is all nice and all but it still comes down to 2 things.

Will Arum allow this fight to happen?

Will Pacquiao put his foot down and make Arum make the fight happen?

If you answer no to both or either of these, then there is only one thing left to say.

    END THREAD

If a prime Margarito had the goods to beat Floyd he did a damn good job hiding it.

Trash like that couldn't beat Mayweather's spit bucket.

After rewatching Mayweather-Canelo, I have to admit that if Manny hasn't slipped too far (we will have to see how he does in the Rios fight) he still has a chance against Floyd. Floyd my have clearly outpointed Canelo, but, the fight was by no means a blowout. canelo was not remotely hurt, and I had him winning 4 rounds (with a good argument for 5). Canelo's hands are fast, but his footwork is not. And he has a completely incompetent corner. I was shocked to see in my second viewing of the fight (It was too hard to hear in the bar during the original broadcast) just how little they knew, and how little they helped Canelo try to solve Floyd. I hope he doesn't owe his corner a cut because they did not earn their money. Let's just hope Showtime keeps the pressure on Floyd to at least fight decent fighters like Canelo instead of talentless amateurs like Guerrero.

That's pretty much exactly what I thought a few years ago.

Not anymore though. Because of their respective styles, levels of willingness to take on big challenges and frequency of fighting, in boxing terms Manny has aged faster and is not much of threat to Floyd anymore. That was intentional on Money's part IMO but that's another story.

    I agree

Pacquaio has a combination of hand and footspeed, decent power, great stamina, chin, awkward angles, combination punching and experience that no other potential Floyd opponent has tgat I can think of.

Manny has a few attributes that could potentially trouble Floyd early in the fight.

I'd love to see the fight, still.. due to their style matchup. I'd favor Floyd, obviously.. and I think there's a good likelyhood Floyd stops him now, whereas in 2009-2010, Manny would've ate Floyds punches like M&Ms.

True, Mayweather has advantages over Pacquaio but this thread is about if Pacquaio has anything to trouble Mayweather with so I said Id keep it to that angle.

People who say "Marquez gave Pac problems so Floyd will beat Pac" gotta understand Marquez and Floyd are completely different fighters. Marquez is a volume counter puncher who punches in combinations and moves laterally while Floyd is a potshot counter puncher who leans back and who also hides under a shoulder roll which doesn't work against southpaws. So Floyd has to use a high-guard vs southpaws. The only real weapon Floyd has against southpaws is a straight right hand which is also very different from Marquez's right hand.

It took Juan "Puberty at 40" Marquez 39 rounds and getting knocked down 5 times to finally get Pac's rhythm down just enough to land a Hail Mary while barely standing with his face cracked open. Floyd has never faced Pac before so he doesn't know the angles and rhythm of Pacman's punches. The early rounds will be very dangerous for Floyd if he fights Pac. In fact every fighter in recent memory who fought Pacquiao were hurt early. Hatton was KTFO, Cotto was knocked down and hurt bad, Margarito got his eye broken, Mosley was knocked down, Bradley was caught and broke his foot, Marquez got his nose broken and face cracked.

Floyd also DOES have problems with southpaws, he LOOKS AWFUL when he fights southpaws, compared to his usual self. Yes Floyd beat Guerrero, but he sucked in that fight. He beat Canelo FAR easier than he beat Guerrero, and Guerrero is alot weaker and slower than Canelo, what does that tell you? Guerrero was outworking him but just wasn't fast enough to get to Floyd. Floyd was able to keep Guerrero off of him by continuously Poping his face with a straight right hand, but Floyd will need much more than a straight right to keep a motivated Pacquiao off of him. Floyd also was getting his ass beat by Judah for 4 rounds and even got knocked down, before Judah gassed out. Ortiz also caught Floyd a few times and had him uncomfortable with the pace. Alot of Floyd's trademark weapons and defensive rolls simply aren't as effective vs southpaws, he really only has a right hand.

Not saying that Pac will beat Floyd, but people who're saying that Floyd will dominate Pacquiao are deluded. Pac is still easily the most dangerous fight out there at 147/154 for Floyd.
