This is dumb. The public wanted the Morales rematch, loss or not. He was beaten by a runner, the Pac fight still had potential. You all know there was demand for the Erik Morales rematch. You fools do know that Erik BEAT Manny in the first fight , he's rematching a guy who BEAT him. Just because he lost to a runner who did 0 damage to him and has a completely different style doesn't mean anything.

i thought about this a couple of months ago when i was rewatching the morales-raheem fight...i was wondering how pac never fought raheem, when basically the fight was an elimination to fight pac and raheem won by a shutout. but raheem somehow never got the fight.

op is right about guzman too...for a while there was talk of a guzman pac fight...guzman was a hot commodity at the time. seemed like a dynamite matchup, but nothing happened.

the same fans who would falsely claim ducked this guy or that guy would never acknowledge that pac ducked guys like raheem and guzman, guys who were quick, slick counter punchers.

it explains why pac ducked floyd for so many years too, behind the PED testing...

the thing with raheem is, he beat rocky juarez and acelino freitas too....but because he lacked a huge fan base, he got robbed a lot.

just listen to hbo during the raheeem-morales fight...jim lampley says it out loud that pac would never fight raheeem...in fact lampley advises pac not to fight raheem. no doubt pac, his managers and his promoter all saw it the same as lampley.

sorry i base my logic off of pac**** logic...so i was not aware that you were allowed to make decisions based off who will make you the most money...yer supposed to take on the fighters that the people demand(and by people i mean hardcore boxing fan who post on message boards) and present the biggest challenges according to forum posters....you arent supposed to make decisions based on money or who will sell a fight

heck...think about how many times he made jmm wait quite awhile for a rematch when an immediate rematch should have taken place.....after jmm looked like **** against floyd and people said jmm couldnt carry the weight and fight that high and he was old...manny jumped at the chance and still had problems

pac still can't figure out jmm...jmm arguably won all 4 fights. and like you pointed out, pac ducked quick-handed counterpunchers like raheem and guzman because he would have stylistic problems with them...i hear all the folks talking about pac-may is gonna be a close fight...but i suspect floyd wins easy...and look for the body work from floyd. manny got no answer for marquez body work...

They say JMM needed 4 tries to beat Pac.....well Manny needs more than that to beat Juan, he might need about 6 matches before he can beat Juan convincingly

they all under estimate the punching power and awkwardness of pac until they face him in the ring. the thing with pac fights is that there is always perceived competition so there is excitement which is not too predictable unlike with boxers who always employ maximum defense to win fights.

And then less than a year later Manny was fighting David Diaz at 135 and Oscar at 147...but nevermind, as you say, Raheem was too big for Manny.
